NEWS RELEASE: July 3rd 2003 TSX Venture Exchange: TSN.U

Tranzcom Receives the Highest Certification for
Security Projects in Beijing, China

Vancouver, B.C. – Tranzcom Security Networks Inc., is pleased to report that Beijing Huaxun Datacom Co. Ltd. (“Huaxun”), Tranzcom’s operating subsidiary in China, has successfully upgraded its permit for design and implementation of security protection projects from Class 2 to Class-1, the highest level of certification awarded by the Beijing Bureau of Public Security. There are 71 security companies in Beijing which hold the Class-1 permit almost all of which are focused on the engineering and installation of internal security and alarm systems. Huaxun is one of a limited few companies focused on security monitoring networks and to our knowledge, the only one which offers fault tolerant wireless capability.

This permit upgrade enables the Company to undertake more sophisticated and lucrative projects such as those available in the banking sector, and most importantly, for the high profile opportunities offered by the upcoming 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. It is reported that 100 billion RMB (approximately $12 billion US) will be spent to upgrade the capital city’s infrastructure and for the increased specific security requirements for the Olympics. Given its leading position in technology and strong strategic partnerships, Huaxun is in an excellent position to be a front runner in bidding these lucrative, high profile Olympic security contracts.

About Tranzcom:

Tranzcom Security Networks Inc., through its subsidiary in China, is a leading Network Application Service Provider (NSP) for monitoring and security systems. Customers include over 3,500 end users for security monitoring services at institutions, business enterprises, merchants, and residential locations. The current operational services are being expanded in Beijing, China which is hosting the Summer Olympic Games in 2008.

Beijing Huaxun Datacom Co Ltd. acquired the “CAN System” in 2001 and is aggressively commercializing and expanding the proprietary security monitoring network system. The system provides an advanced, secure dual-path monitoring service using both the telephone line and wireless over Huaxun’s own licensed radio frequency. This system has been proven to be fault tolerant through the proprietary wireless monitoring capability. Should the phone lines at a subscribers site fail, or be disconnected, the backup wireless system immediately takes over monitoring the site.

China’s implementation of a domestic market economy has resulted in increasing unemployment. The Chinese Government has turned toward technology to help curb increasing crime, a direct result of increasing unemployment and the increasing affluence within the emerging middle class in China. Tranzcom believes that the company is extremely well positioned to capitalize on this high growth area of business in China’s cities over the next 5 years.
