Alright. Enough about baseball. Back to the market. [Wink]

Still long in SPF here. Looks like Obama will sign the tax credit extension today. I'm hoping for a good week next week. We'll see.

For Sirius, isn't Pandora(A free internet radio, Where you can create your own station) a huge threat to the long term demand for a pay radio service? Especially with the huge increase in smart phone use which can carry the Pandora app?

I agree that share price seems low, but Siri's market cap is 2.4 bil. for a product that seems to be surviving solely through the Ford brand, I feel like that's pretty expensive for a buyout bid.

just curious why everyone is rooting for this stock? [Big Grin]

here's a article saying the opposite of Seeking Alpha.

Sirius 3Q Loss Narrows Substantially; Subscriber Growth Slumps
Font size: A | A | A
7:42 AM ET 11/5/09 | Dow Jones
DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

Sirius XM Radio Inc.'s (SIRI) third-quarter loss narrowed substantially from a year ago when the company booked a $4.75 billion write-down. Meanwhile, subscriber growth slowed sharply.

Shares rose 3.9% premarket to 64 cents.

Last year's quarter was the first in which Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio posted results as a combined company following their merger.

The satellite radio provider, which in February said it was exploring the possibility of filing for bankruptcy protection, has since improved its financial position. It was initially boosted by a $530 million capital infusion from Liberty Media Corp.

Meanwhile, Sirius XM reiterated its 2009 forecast and projects 2010 adjusted earnings from operations rise 20% next year and high-single-digit revenue growth. The mean estimate of analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters was 2010 revenue growth of 9%.

Meanwhile, the company posted a third-quarter loss of $149.1 million, or 4 cents a share, compared with a year-earlier loss of $4.88 billion, or $1.93 a share. On a pro-forma basis revenue rose 2.7% to $629.6 million.

Analysts expected a 2-cent loss on revenue of $609 million.

Total subscribers fell 2.1% from a year earlier to 18.5 million while net new subscribers slumped 70% to 102,295.

Churn, or the rate of monthly customer losses, rose to 2% from 1.7% for self-pay customers. Average revenue per subscriber, an important industry measure, rose 3.4% while costs associated with adding new subscribers fell 6.8% per subscriber.

free money... SIRI ..as for me...im leveraged to the max...every penny move means 4k dollars..through my own DD and also of my research team, we have come to the conclusion that this is perhaps the most undervalued stock on the planet. We decided this in Febuary and knowing what we know, I was loading up on it at 10 to 12 cents. They are not your normal "penny" stock...there are more than 20 great reasons for this stock to easily hit 3 bucks or more. a few of these reasons are 18+ million customer and growing, monopoly of the whole planet, howard stern, oprah, martha stewart, NFL, MBA, PGA, ect. breaking into asia/china with a newly launched satillite, apple apps. contracts with every car mfg around..the list goes on and on...so I/we expect it to just keep on trucking...why put my big anywhere else?? I do also own MSFT from 15.50, but the upside risk/reward potential of SIRI is far greater IMHO.
They had just reported earnins ect. and I knew (felt) they would blow the so called "experts" predictions away, which they did....and that is why Im totally shocked that SIRI did not jump up at minimum 30% yesterday and today...but its sitll early in the game and I have seen many stock in my investments throughout the years that have performed in just this fasion...everything earnings wise was fantastic,,,the stock will head fake all the weak players out of their holding, and then 3-4 days later...bam....it goes to the moon and never looks back...some examples were, early days of AMGN, DISH, EBAY, MSFT, DELL Im telling you now,,these stocks did exactly the same action as SIRI is doing now...only SIRI has no competition...in their arena, they have ALL the content and that is what people with the bucks are willing to pay for...Your comparison to pandora is like saying,,,,why do people subscribe to blockbuster and netflix, when they can watch TV for free...they want content and pay for it...same sith SIRI..so there ya go that is my view of this turd...(all stocks are turds) ...good luck to us

Well, here is another short play.

EONC...$3.60. Up $1.95. It hasn't been this high since 200 December 1st 2007 where it peaked $15 at a 1 day only. But prior to December, the average was around 5.50-6.00. The average the past 2 years has been around $2-2.50. I say its a fluke and will drop back to $2 range. There ya go. I have to think about shorting it....down $2,000 on AA. I will decide in a few.

Ok....not gonna short it. Just dropped $0.15 from $3.60. If I did...I would cover at $2.90 or less I think.

Guess I hit this on the money. Saw it at $2.60 this morning. That is $1.00 a share if you had shorted it.

Morpheus, thank you for the SIRI explanation. Although I believe every word you are saying including the fact that SIRI is not your avg penny stock per se, one can't help but wonder the comments in your post does sound like self-proclaimed gurus pushing certain stock picks of theirs. i am not offending you here - don't get me wrong because I do believe what you're saying is true and believe is the key word here - believing is what you can't do with those other brokers pushing their picks (and there are many websites out there where they do this) - i am just pinpointing the similarities - its hard to tell the right hyping from BS hyping these days- something we all can benefit from by correctly identifying - in your case, i am not saying you're hyping SIRI at all - i also think it has huge upside potential.

Sell is set for $1.28....all 12,000 shares. If it hits, I make $1,800. Also was debating on grabbing 4,300 more share or more when it was at $1.01-1.04. But had to tape my trigger finger down.

Wish I had a L2 quote. But some walls have been crumbling down. $1.15 is a 26,700 wall. But back at $1.13. Once it breaks the walls down...it should run up a bit. But sure wish I had held out a bit longer and loaded up at $1.04 or less. I would have 18,000-20,000 shares if I had waited.

[Smile] Just broke the $1.15 wall.

Raj...i gave my explanation of what i feel about SIRI cause free money asked..im not hyping it and could really give a rats ass if anybody here buys it or not..it just seems to me that it should be going above a buck easily and I was fully expecting it to move up strongly after the latest earning report..so take it for what its worth..personally, i have done very good with this pick up from 15 and as time has gone on I feel it still has upside of another 40-50% . So, I promise to not mention SIRI anylonger, cause I agree with you, I do talk alot about it lately..but i will give it a rest and focus on more whort term entries for short term swing/day trades..cool?
