little blip on cnbc about siri. since you've been playing it a bunch morph.

quote:
Sirius Got, and Rebuffed, Ergen Bid: WSJ

Satellite mogul Charles Ergen made an unsolicited offer late last year to take control of Sirius XM Radio Inc. [SIRI 0.11 -0.02 (-13.08%) ], and was rebuffed, the Wall Street Journal said, citing people familiar with the situation.

Ergen proposed for one of his satellite companies -- EchoStar Corp. [SATS 16.59 -0.05 (-0.3%) ] or Dish Network Corp. [DISH 13.75 0.18 (+1.33%) ] -- to inject enough capital into Sirius for it to meet its debt obligations and avoid a bankruptcy filing, the newspaper cited the people as saying.

Despite the rejection, Ergen has recently reiterated his interest in taking control of Sirius, the paper said.

Even if Ergen succeeds in acquiring control of Sirius, however, it is far from certain that federal regulators, whose approval would be required, would welcome the union of satellite television and radio, the newspaper added.

Sirius XM has nearly $1 billion in debt due this year, prompting many on Wall Street to doubt its future given the sluggish credit market and a steep drop in car sales -- the biggest source of new satellite radio subscribers.

Ergen's move has put Sirius Chief Executive Mel Karmazin in a corner, the Journal said.

In discussions with investors last week, Karmazin said that unless he could raise $175 million, he would be faced with one of two options: having Sirius file for bankruptcy or cutting a deal with Ergen, the paper said. An EchoStar spokesman could not be immediately reached for comment by Reuters. Sirius too could not be immediately reached for comment by Reuters.

Bailed on fas. Bank bailout doesn't include bad bank. Market may not like that. I could be wrong but....not worth holding overnight.

free money...thanx for thinking of me..i really appreciated it..the SIRI blurb is good stuff and must be considered into the mix..im still playing them. as much as i want to drop some big bucks into them like some of my cronies..im just keeping it real with no more than 10-15 percent of my total portfolio..(trying to limit it there anyhow) and hope not to get burned..im gonna dip into some more if siri drops below .11 in the am..laters

i have been looking at charts for the past few hours and i like AA, DXO RF and yes DRYS..i might just dump a bucket load of cash into these and go on vacation for a bit..coasta rica is really nice this time of the year.Well, Costa Rica is a tropical country situated between 8 and 11 degrees above the equator. It has only two seasons: dry and green! The dry season with very little rain is generally between late December and April and the green or wet season lasts the rest of the year - May through November, but still offers an average of about 5 hours of daily sunshine. The Caribbean coast doesen't have this extended dry weather and stays green all year round and due to the humidity, tends to be a little oppressive sometimes. The Central Mountainous Region is more temperate, like the spring-like weather in San Jose,

This has been a really bad several weeks for me. I was lucky enough to trade my way to just about break even with very little loss. It's frustrating to work hard trading for 2 weeks with no gain, lol. But at least I'm still alive through it all. I sold BAC to break even today. I should have sold it yesterday while I was ahead.

I am holding DRYS, NM, FAS, and AIB.
