Lets here your thoughts on Stem Cell stocks. Today was huge for them and it seems to me that this is the future and todays prices on them are bargain box compared to what they will be as soon as news comes out that there is a cure for blindness or spinal injuries, alzheimers etc. $5 prices today could be $50 0r more a year or two from now. Anyone in agreement.

I didn't wanna put this out there until I got in. Here goes anyways.
I believe that Stem Cell stocks are going to be the next big thing, and sitting on one of these companies (GERN, STEM, ASTM) could pay dividends in the coming 10 years. I am waiting to get in however.
The risky downside - The big boys are now getting their foot in the stem cell ring, which could hurt these little debt ridden stem cell stocks. The big boys could squash these miniature companies like a bug, or save some cash and buy them, or partner up with them for research and patent information.
Here's some homework for ya - Which companies have the best patents?

Those were my thoughts, that this is like the discovery of penicillin. I did take up a 1k position in each of these three, STEM, GERN and CUR. Stem I had a couple years ago and got beat up on wish I stil had it from then. GERN seems like a no brainer since they recieved the first approval. CUR I'm not sure if they had a patent out or not but they are working on vision problems. I would think I would look into companies that are working on more common problems like CUR. While a cure for spinal injuries would be a huge acheivement I would think they are percentage wise not as big a market as say Glaucoma or Alzheimers. As far as homework I didn't do any I have no idea about the fundamentals of any of the three I bought. I bought strictly on a gamble that this is the next erection pill LOL. I'll try to look into some between going back to school and worrying about finding work and paying the bills. This subject does excite me though!!!

Modavox Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against AOL, Time Warner, Inc. and Platform-A, Inc., Amending Its Trademark Infringement Suit Against AOL
Monday January 26, 9:00 am ET
Company Files Claims, January 21, 2009, in U.S. District Court in the Central District of California Seeking Injunctive Relief and Damages PHOENIX, Jan. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Modavox, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: MDVX - News), an Internet broadcasting pioneer in the production and syndication of online audio and video, announced today that it has filed an action against AOL LLC, Time Warner, Inc. and Platform-A, Inc. in the United States District Court for the Central District of California (Case No. CV08-05914 SJO PJWx), asserting they are infringing on United States Patent No. 6,594,691, "Method and System for Adding Function to a Web Page," and United States Patent No. 7,269,636, a continuation of the original patent that further defines the invention assigned to Modavox. The complaint amended a claim against AOL for trademark infringement, Unfair Competition and False Designation of Origin in connection with AOL's use of THE BOOMBOX designation, which is alleged to be confusingly similar to Modavox's registered trademark BOOMBOX RADIO. Modavox is seeking injunctive relief and as yet unspecified damages stemming from the alleged infringing activities.
David Ide, Chief Executive Officer of Modavox stated, "This action was originally brought in response to an unwelcome perceived infringement of our BoomBox trademark, specifically the unauthorized commercial, for-profit use, copying, display and distribution of our trademark brand name BoomBox. This mark is central to our product and service offerings and we went through great lengths and effort to obtain, preserve and market this brand only to have to protect it from what we believe to be a clear infringement of this brand and its hard fought equity, by AOL. This coupled with our belief that our patented technologies are being infringed across Platform A has left us with no choice but to take this action along with our team in California Federal District Court."
Nathaniel T. Bradley, Chief Technology & Product Officer at Modavox stated, "Our technical analysis of AOL's Platform A convinced us that AOL, Time Warner and Platform A are infringing our patents. Our team of third party technical and legal experts, at considerable cost by our company, has extensively investigated our allegations and asserts that there exists a good faith belief in our allegations of infringement. In particular, AOL's expansion of its subsidiary, Tacoda, Inc.'s Behaviorial Targeting across Platform A has clearly appeared to embody the same underlying method to achieve targeted delivery advertising to consumers."
David Shaub with Shaub and Williams LLP, who is acting as Modavox's lead counsel in the case stated, "We have carefully studied this deployment and cautioned AOL to cease and desist."
The relief sought in the suit by Modavox includes injunctive relief and monetary damages resulting from AOL's alleged patent infringement and use of the Modavox brand name at the website theboombox.com. AOL launched and publicly announced the website on May 20, 2008 as an urban (hip hop and R&B) music, news and information site.
Modavox has a suit pending against Tacoda, Inc. for patent infringement in the US District Court in New York in a case filed in August of 2007 and that case is progressing per the court prescribed schedule. Tacoda was purchased by AOL Time Warner despite that lawsuit in September of 2007 and AOL launched theboombox.com in a beta release on or around October 7, 2007.

I'm not going to go into huge detail.
Plus WEL oil/gas prices don't matter much. You obviously have no clue what they do. They aren't an oil/gas company, they have a certain niche in the oil and gas industry. Read about it.
ETFC- right now the market is so volatile Etrade is making tons of money as people are trading more than usual. Remember, people who are long term traders who lost their 401k's weren't trading anyways. Etrade is priced near bankruptcy due to a brutal HELOC portfolio. Historically, Etrade makes over a buck a share. Let's say traders dont trade that much..okay $.60 per share eventually= $6.00-$7.50
NRF: This is an cmREIT...best of the breed. May fall more, but right now NO Non performing assets. Unbelievable.
Sometime within the next 5 years, I would expect to see a DOUBLE in all of these.
Good luck my man, I'll be back sometime within the next 5 years to confirm my thoughts here.
The first week of March '09 looked 100% better for the portfolio than getting in during Oct 2008 when you mentioned.

Taking the few moments to see how insiders and especially institutionals are positioned is good advice, as is proven. And refering back to invester? lmao. Like my signature says, "Do your own DD. C - Citigroup is on my buy list in the coming month. With Bernanke refusing to let the banks fail, it's a safe a bet as any for $2-$3 per share. This was at $50 two years ago. Where will it be 10 years from now? Back to $50? Possibly. A pull back to $2 would be nice to see for an entry point. Have to keep an eye on the shorts over the next month. Hopefully C can buy back some shares over the next 10 years as there are about 5.5 Billion in the Float! A split will not help us.
Japan slapped Citi on the wrist for lackadaisical regulation on money laundering, the slap beginning on July 15th, and lasting for one month restricting promotional sales activities.
I wonder how low the DOW will drop when folks start calling this "recession" a depression across the board. I'm guessing around 5000 in less than 12 months.

I'll never forget the first time I saw you posting here on Allstocks. I was on the tele with Dustoff, and commented on your handle, which I read as 'I'm a monkey' at the first few glances. We had a good hard laugh over that one.
And the nickname of monkey has stuck with me, and a few others throughout your existance here.
Well, you made a great first impression with me I have to say.

Message boards mainly reflect folks' ego, as I have demonstrated over the previous year in postings.
I just stick around here on Allstocks occasionaly when I am bored, hoping to give a little wisdom to any newbies, or students of the game out there. I will always be a student of this game, so long as I have breath.
About this article: So CIT hangs in the balance this morning. I find it amazing that it has lasted this long. Who was still lending this company money? Who has kept it alive? This critical juncture has been a long time coming. It's been a slow train wreck of a company, and keeping CIT alive at this point is really a kind of Japanese life-support thing to do. Giving CIT money right now will amount to a government decision to preserve reckless lenders, not lending, because frankly CIT got out of its risky lending businesses -- mostly home equity but a lot of other subpar lending like student loans -- but the management at the top has stayed the same. More on CIT's Crisis Still Talking to Regulators In fact, I can't believe that Jeffrey Peek, chairman and CEO, always mentioned as a fabulous banker from Merrill who...
