My 07 target remains at $5 although I'm considering upping it to $7-$9 based on comparable companies acqusition prices as of late.
Despite the large move as of late, I truly believe this one is just finding some institutional investors radars. It may pullback but longer term, I expect prices to be significantly higher.
Likelyhood of them being bought out increases every day that passes. They haven't even mentioned their patent infringement potential case yet that I view as being potentially worth hundreds of millions.

From another forum talking about AKAM and MDVX
"No question is a bad question.
I think they could have interest in now or in the future in Modavox and that if these new products they are presenting to Akamai tomorrow are found by them to be capable of adding value to Akamai's operations then maybe that will prompt talks.
I don't think the acquisition of the other company alleviates any deal with Modavox whatsoever as the technology is not the same. It clearly illustrates they do have a desire to own technology and be a major player in the space. A deal with Modavox would go a long way towards establishing them as the clear leader with patented technology others may currently be infringing upon.
At some point, I firmly believe there may be a bidding war for this company with the players I've previously discussed. Today's news appears to leave little doubt as to the viability of Modavox's multiple technologies as a top tier company like Akamai would not be partnered with any small technology company unless it brought value to their operations and bottom line.
Akamai did not get to be the top performing on Nasdaq this year by associating with any company having less than the best and most valuable technology. Eagles fly with eagles in other words.
A land grab is coming and Modavox is a prime piece of real estate imo."

With rising trend of smartphones and pocket pc's modavox is gonna be a strong company which will have to be bought out for utilizing its strong potential. I have always believed that it would be a BUyout target. Stock do ctor says buyout is almost certain. Most likly in next quarter.
This is very good level to get in. Anything less than $2 is dirt cheap.

Nice volume and consolidation today. There appears to be buyers looking to take advantage of any weakness to initiate or add to positions making it less likely to occur.
I'd be more than pleased to see the shares trade sideways here a little while we continue to consolidate recent gains before they again attempt to set new highs. If it would just sit still for a moment, maybe some of us could finally get a chance to add to positions.
The shares continuing strong relative strength is very telling imo. My 07 price target remains $5 but I'm very close to raising it to $7-$9 based on recent events specific to Modavox as well as events such as Akamai just acquiring a similiar company for almost $185 million and I don't believe them to be worth nearly as much as Modavox.
It's important to note my current target EXCLUDES a significant material development relating to the patent infringement issue. If we get any indications of what it could mean to the company from a monetary perspective, we can then revisit my price objective. I do believe it could be the issue that lights the fuse and starts the bidding war for the company.

1. Who would be a potential buyer of Modavox?
I believe there are numerous potential acquirers. My best educated guess would be Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, Adobe or Akamia. There are certainly other media related companies that would also benefit. A lot may depend on who is infringing on their patent....
2. Is a buyout to Akamai's advantage? Absolutely, they would acquire numerous patented technologies they could roll out to their large existing client base. The up sale opportunities to current customers is immense allowing them to generate nice incremental revenues from existing customers. They would gain a potentially very valuable patent in which they could then seek to enforce on others. Akamai owning Modavox not only makes Akamai more valuable but it increases their chance of being acquired as well. Remember Google has been rumored to be looking at Akamai. Another thing of importance is that if Modavox adds value to Akamai, wouldn't Akamai want to protect that valuable partnership knowing someone else would gain a strategic advantage by acquiring the partner itself.
Here's something important to consider, although we don't know the true value of Modavox's patent, let's assume it is of considerable value based on their words of multiple large media companies possibly infringing. Let's say an acquirer comes in and pays $200 million or $6 a share for the whole company. (To me, this would literally be a steal but we'll use it for discussion purposes.)
They then turn right around and go after the other multiple parties (competitors) seeking damages for the infringement. My guess is worst case scenario, there is a high likelyhood they could recoup some, if not the entire amount they paid to buy Modavox. In other words, they really acquired the company for little to nothing. Think about it....the difference between Modavox and a major company owning the patent is the amount of resources to go after a competitor. When an acquisition can pay for itself, that's a great acquisition!
Let's also not forget that in the technology arena, many acquisitions are made simply to keep a competitor from making that same acquisition. "Best offense is a good defense!" The space is consolidating and all the potential acquirers can be considered fierce competitors. When those dynamics exist, it typically leads to significant premiums being paid for strategic purchases.
