Well, yeah, you are right. It was back in June or July when they were going to do the launch (or was it earlier, it was delayed I remember). People were saying it was going to soar after the launch. Way too much hype. Sorry for the pessimism, but I think $4 is questionable at this point, based on past history.

No reason to apologize. You seem to have a pessimistic/skeptical approach to most stocks in which you are involved, even those in which you have no position or interest as well. But that just seems to be your trading style. The shareprice has already been over $4 but has declined due to a delay in the test flights of the Stratellites. But with the impending test flights of the Military prototype and also the Sanswire 2 commercial demonstrator, $4 will be easily eclipsed with successful flights. GTE already has LOI's for Stratellites in place that will be executed after successful flight testing of the Stratellites. All told, the LOI's number into the hundreds of millions of dollars. So $4 would be but a drop in the bucket in as far as share price if the technology proves itself out IMO.

Ah. I think it is just that I do not push a stock, so the only time I post is when I have doubts or concerns. I guess that does make me look a bit one-sided. [Razz]

So, with that...I think GTE is a great company, but I'm more conservative about its immediate future after what happened when they first showed the prototype. In the long run, of course, it is gold.

Thanks for your reply, and glty.

Um, one minor point: the stock has never reached $4. Have you just recently started tracking this stock? The only reason the chart shows "$4" is because the pps has been adjusted for the recent r/s.

Umm..your wrong. It went to $4.05 the day of the R/S(5/23/05). GTE opened at $4.04 the day after the R/S(5/24/05). I have been tracking GTEL/GTE for about a year. Your research really needs to be a little more thorough.

Again, I repeat, it had never REACHED $4. It was CONVERTED to $4. Is that clear enough for ya? Maybe it is your research that is lacking (if you want to get nasty about it)?

In fact, it declined quite a bit after the r/s, but never went back up to $4.

You can go ahead and ignore the history of the stock, but in fact the planned launch, the revealing of the prototype, etc. has all been a big disappointment (and was reflected by stockholders by a drop in pps). I won't be getting excited about any forcasted "launch" due to that.

It did reach over $4.00 because I sold some at $3.95. It was not converted to $4.00 due to R/S. Ask Glassman or anyone else who held at the time. It is clear you did not have any shares at the time or you would know it went over $4.00. Is that clear enough for you?

PS: Not being nasty, just pointed out your research is faulty.

Technically, it went to $4. Realisticallly, that was a very brief moment, and it got there because of the r/s. You think that just because the stock was at $4 after the r/s that it is signficant? No, the facts are that the stock was over-inflated at that price. You can play your game of nit-picking, but it won't save you in the end. If you disagree, then I guess all the stockholders who let it go down were wrong, eh?

Pagan, you could benefit from looking at the bigger picture. You could also benefit from talking about the facts instead of what anyone needs to know about me. I could care less what you or anyone else thinks of me, but $4 is not a reasonable target unless you are pumping. I think that is exactly what you are doing.

Of course, we only have to wait a "few weeks" to see, right? [Smile]

I have never pumped this stock, nor any other stock. The facts are simple. You said it was never above $4, I said it was(and it was). I never attached any signifigance to $4. Peaser called for the over $4. I just responded to your posts with the reasons why it could surpass $4 again with successful test flights and fruition of LOI contracts. Guess that makes me a pumper huh? LOL.

Um, I didn't say it was never above $4. I said it has never reached $4. It was already there. Why is this insigificant detail so important? You are making this into a debate about minute details and character, whereas all I am saying is that I have doubts about it going to $4 in such a short time, based on the past history. It might happen, but this is not the first time I've heard pre-launch "hype" only to have it not happen.

And whether intentional or not, you are a pumper:

About Wayne Allyn Root- "America's Handicapper!"

Wayne Allyn Root is quite simply THE brand name in American sports handicapping. His rags to riches story is truly remarkable. Born a S.O.B. (Son of a Butcher), Wayne has morphed into high profile CEO, best-selling author (Millionaire Republican hit #19 on the Amazon Business Best-Seller List 2 days BEFORE publication), TV celebrity and self-made millionaire. He is living proof that the American Dream is alive and well- and available to everyone! http://www.wayneroot.com FROM THE PUBLISHER

Rush Limbaugh meets Napoleon Hill in these fifteen counterintuitive rules for creating personal wealth in the new Republican-dominated era.

Currently, the GOP controls the United States presidency, Congress, Senate, Supreme Court, and the majority of governorships and statehouses. That will NOT change.

Americans are moving in droves to red states, states where government is smaller, taxes are lower, jobs are plentiful, churches abound, and small businesses are thriving. Blue states will continue to lose population, government funding, electoral votes, and political prominence. What will remain are two Americas: red states full of young, vibrant risk-takers with high incomes, advanced levels of education, strong marriages, and high church attendance. Blue states, on the other hand, are often marked by decaying, high-crime areas with older populations, infrastructures in disrepair, and sluggish business growth.

How can you succeed and plan to thrive in a Republican future? Professional sports handicapper and radio host Wayne Allyn Root reveals the new Republican rules, which include:

- Relocate to red states.

- Invest in business and buy stocks to capitalize on Social Security privatization.

- Buy real estate-it is your foundation for wealth and security.

- Invest in foreign real estate.

- Understand how charitable giving will help you become a Millionaire Republican.

- Learn to appreciate "the joy of failure."

The real key to becoming a Millionaire Republican is to do the opposite of what the masses do. Millionaire Republican shows readers how to harness the current political, business, and social winds to create a unique plan to achieve prosperity and success.

He is right....if you divide $4.00 by 15 which was 15 shares = 1 share....then $4.00/15= $0.26 which is about what it was selling for when it occured. Either way, who really cares....I dumped $12,250 at $1.59 a share average over the past 3 months. I'm holding until it hits $5.00 range....then I'll probably dump half....and hold the rest for LONG position...as in 5 years.

I can't wait for the stratelite to be launched....I'll dump another $10,000 in when it does and make a few plays.

It should cause the GTE market to tighten a bit. Possibly cause some shorts to cover.

One of the primary goals of Regulation SHO is to address potential abuses in the practice of naked short selling, which is the act of short selling without actually confirming that shares have been borrowed. The regulation addresses this issue by including two main short sale requirements: the "locate" and "close-out" requirements. The locate requirement is placed on broker-dealers to reasonably assure that there are in fact shares to borrow to be short sold. The close-out requirement is also placed on broker-dealers to close out positions in securities if the position has failed to be delivered or returned for an extended period.
