BUY!!! Why does everyone freak out so much? Of course it sucks when the stocks you own go down, but in the end, this is a game (why else is it called 'playing the market') right now is the perfect time to buy! If emotion can be taken out of the equation, you will have a much better time. But, then again, what do I know, I'm a newbie.

GE is strong... no i'm not saying buy them, but i am saying this isn't likely to be a continued downtrend..

GE is 1% of our total economy....

I have one large long position (for me) that is still profitable, but is heading down. If the market heads south Monday, I'm closing it out. That would put me at 45% cash, where I will be trying to short something . Will research this weekend to try to find a good play. I use Scottrade and it has been hard to find any shares to borrow to sell short in the sell off this week. LOL Rough week.

I'm trying my hand on JPHC and SMTR this week. I wouldn't look to buy SMTR until the end of the week though if anyone's thinking about a play there. JPHC is low and expecting good news on April 18th, I'm hoping the downtrend reverses soon, RSI is below 30. Just bought in the other day. Any thoughts on these two?

I've been in GE for years and I agree the downtrend for them is slim. One of the few that posted gains Friday. Since they make alot of their money through loans from GE Capitol rising intrest rates should help them in the long run. This is one to buy and hold for the next 20 years not try to time. GE Capitol also has a huge amount of cash from the GE pension fund, somewhere around 40 billion if I remember right so the have the money to make moves, they have really turned into a holding company instead of a company that just sells products IMO
