Business Model

ProtoKinetix is building value for investors through licensing and joint ventures with business partners, utilizing our internationally patented technology– which is comprised of a family of glycoprotein compounds – targeting biotechnology applications where existing and developing businesses have requirements that AAGPs™ – anti-aging glycopeptides – will dramatically improve.

The biotechnology business is often subject to expensive and time consuming regulatory processes. Our approach is to expedite the development of our technology primarily through business relationships that provide us with leading-edge technical and marketing expertise to expedite the time lines to place products on the shelf.

ProtoKinetix is not about building a business with “bricks and mortar.” We believe there are so many AAGP™ applications that can best be reached through strategic business relationships.

We assess each opportunity with return on investment as the priority. Defining and measuring each agreement based upon corporate investment, time line to market, strength of the organization within a specific market segment and marketing strengths.

As we build the value of AAGP™ we are also taking steps to generate revenue through sales of products in markets that do not require regulatory oversight.

ProtoKinetix is Reviewing Major European Proposals
PROTOKINETIX INC. (PKTX:OTCBB)

Press Release
Source: ProtoKinetix Inc.
On 4:05 pm EST, Tuesday December 15, 2009
VANCOUVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ProtoKinetix Inc. (PKTX) has been approached by a European biopharma investment group with a series of proposals to develop commercial partnerships in the pharmaceutical/cosmetic arenas. In order to support these initiatives, it has been strongly suggested that our European technology (AAGP™) should be more visibly showcased within the European community. This would include an awareness program leading up to a sponsorship for a listing on the AIM, London Stock Exchange.

ProtoKinetix believes that these events are natural synergies due to the strong European origins of the AAGP™ family of molecules. AAGP™ was first created in the laboratories of the University of Rouen, France. Human embryonic stem cell preservation was successfully tested at the University of Helsinki, Finland. The University of Bordeaux proved the ability of AAGP™ to defend skin cells from a wide range of hostile conditions. The National Institute of Chemistry, in France, showed that these molecules were non-toxic in standard concentrations.

ProtoKinetix’ President and CEO states that, “in addition to the proposals currently being evaluated, the company has a number of excellent opportunities to enter into new collaborations with world leading biotechnology investigators and companies to expand the use and applications of the AAGP™ family of molecules. Though these European collaborations and partnerships, we are confident of both financial and scientific success”.

Chuck.w...Great Post. PKTX, has two problems. One, we need a contract to start the ball rolling, hopefully the Protokinetix/L'Oreal contract deal will happen soon.. Once that happens, the 2nd problem will ease some what(Daytraders)...I feel with money coming in though sales of AAGPT, the PPS will go up and alot of the daytraders will go after smaller fish(hopefully)...Protokinetix are getting all of their ducks in a row..Interest is growing, we have a great staff in management and when PR News about PKTX does come..It is opening new doors and new directions to follow.

COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS >> HEALTHCARE SOLUTIONS

Protokinetix AAGP™ research focuses on unique healthcare solutions that can provide cell survival which prolong the life of a cell, which is crucial in many medical research and procedures done today.

Currently there are two main categories that AAGP™ applications would be divided into.

Harvesting, storage and transplanting cells, tissues and organs.
Treatments for conditions and disease caused by stress factors, including UV radiation, oxidation and inflammation
Acute medical research study is always progressing, but one of the problems that researchers rely on is the benefit from solutions that can deal with the fundamental factors of inflammation and oxidation. Both are well-known causes of life-threatening conditions and diseases, and accelerated aging. In addition many acute medical problems are benefiting from cell therapies and transplantation of cell, tissues and organs.

AAGP™ is now being used or investigated as a possible solution by many healthcare companies that specialize in medical cell therapies, organ transplant, trauma, blood product banking and anti-inflammation.

AAGP™ has taken Protokinetix’s research team into preservation of stem cells and cell therapy, storage of blood platelets and blood products, harvesting and transplantation of islet cells for diabetes treatments, time sensitive organ transplantation and inflammation causing diseases and conditions.

Protokinetix expects to license several commercial applications from its AAGP™ family as well as expand its ongoing research and development with institutions and businesses. Protokinetix is actively in talks with several healthcare companies that are testing the molecule in their specific niche applications.

Malta Skin-Ageing Conf., exposure...This is from another PKTX message board....What did the Malta Skin-Ageing Conf.,..Accomplish??…It’s Exposure, BABY!
The Malta Skin Ageing 2009 conference targets cosmetics companies, pharmaceutical companies, food supplement companies, R&D departments, clinicians, veterinary medicine companies, marketing departments, investors, start ups and actors of the economic environment. Keynote speaker/L’Oreal….Is this the same company….
ProtoKinetix (PKTX) announces that L’Oreal (LOR) has applied for a patent using the ProtoKinetix’ Anti-Aging Glyco Peptide (AAGP™) family of molecules as the basis for a skin lightening agent.
This application had already been identified by PKTX as one of the many cosmetic applications included in its patents. If L’Oreal’s patent application were to be successful, they would have to negotiate a license agreement with PKTX to commercialize the use of AAGP™ in any product.
Do you think PKTX’s product AAGP maybe got some exposure from the Malta Skin-Ageing Conf.,??

With all the positive “Exposures” over the last year, not to point out all the great research that Protokinetixs has done in the last six years……Keep the AAGP Exposure, moving…..

(PKTX)Great find on a PKTX's message board in the "Net"..Watch the bouncing ball, fellow PKTX investors and take note(IMHO)...With Protokinetix turning the heat up in Europe since last "09" Summer media exposure from the Conf., in Malta's Skin-ageing gathering..(MHO)PKTX investors..I feel the PKTX/USA group in Washington, D.C., needs attention too. It is a very formidable force of "Makers and Shakers" in their only right..That deals and works with everything and everybody in the research field for the greater exposure for PKTX's products AAGP here in the States...This is old PR News/ copied and pasted... Protokinetix to Open Washington, D.C. Office

To accommodate growth and to take advantage of current opportunities, ProtoKinetix, Inc. (OTCBB:PKTX) is opening an office in Washington, D.C. In recent weeks, the company has expanded its management and business development team to include Dr. Edward D. Martin, M.D. of Martin, Blanck and Associates, Donald J. Weber of Logistics Health, Inc. and Randy Anderson as Vice President of Government Affairs. The new office will serve as a central hub to access the multiple government and non-government health related agencies. The Washington, D.C. office will enable our business development team to accelerate strategic relationships required to optimize the value of the many applications of AAGP™.

Commenting on this new development, ProtoKinetix’ CEO and President Ross L. Senior said, “This is a significant step forward for the company.” Mr. Senior stated that “the decision to open a Washington, D.C. office is in anticipation of the favorable conclusion to ongoing dialogue with prospective partners and negotiations with commercial entities.” He added that “promising results from a variety of recent tests and preliminary trials using ProtoKinetix’ AAGP™ in cryopreservation of multiple cells lines helped the Board reach its decision.”

Randy Anderson will head up this new venture for PKTX and enthusiastically endorses the move as giving a clear direction of where the company is headed. Anderson goes on to say, “We are pleased with recent progress and excited about the short term as well as the extended outlook of the company. I look forward to reporting further developments in the days to come.”

PKTX...Good thoughts to think about..What's is this YoYo effect we're going though with Protokinetix(PPS wise)...Yes, myself.. I'm real tired of this..PKTX has a great product..AAGP. Over the years, this company has put out some ready interesting research related PR News..Something(MHO)that would serve the world and help out greatly...My two main thoughts on this are..Getting out of the Pennies, so the daytraders can't keep playing cheap and PKTX getting a contract..To start this ball rolling towards revenues.

From another PKTX board...(PKTX).."Alot of information/research under PKTX's belt" Who "CARES"..Until Protokinetine receives an contract..Who gives a "Who or What"...Daytraders will play the heck out of PKTX until that time and drive the investors away...There are too many great research points, not to invest in...One point! The Haiti Earthquake..A Hospital ship off-shore..Has relief for many!! Has Blood storage for(5,000 units)And addition for medicines and drugs..Currently blood platelets are stored at the high temperature of 22°C. This temperature allows for bacterial contamination which means that after a maximum of 4 ½ - days they have to be discarded. Storage at lower temperatures is extremely desirable but previously impossible because of the activation of the clotting of the platelets.

At the critical temperature of 15°C, blood platelets treated with AAGP™ were stored for 21-days with no clotting or coagulation. The untreated control group of platelets had massively aggregated (clotted) by approximately 80%. These findings indicate that blood platelets treated with AAGP™ may be able to be stored at refrigeration temperatures having a useful shelf life of 28-days.

Blood platelets are one of the most critical blood products vital for the treatment of all trauma victims to arrest the bleeding. The ability to now provide an adequate supply of platelets for battlefields and emergency medical technicians will dramatically improve the survivability of critical wounds.
