Both ended yesterday strongly and have pulled back from the day's highs. SOIGF is already heading back up while MDFI may still pull back a bit more before heading up, IMO.
Edit: These picks are stocks that I think could go for 10-20% over a couple of days. Not long term holds, but nothing I expect to run up like 50%+ in a few minutes/hours.

Well, MDFI hit $3.80 today before a sudden crash dropped it to $2.50. It quickly rebounded back to the $3 range and is now trading at $3.35. I can't find a reason for the crash, so I'm not sure what to think.
It did go up 8.5% before the crash though, so some money could have been made.
SOIGF has been steadily climbing and is currently at it's high of the day of $6.70 for over 15% since I mentioned it yesterday morning.
If you had put about $2K in each you would have made about $215 in the 2 days. If you had gotten out of MDFI before the crash, it could have been (best case scenario) just under $500.
My goal is to pick stocks like this that could get you $100/day or so on average. These two worked perfectly. I'm not saying that one or both won't keep going up, just that they reached my goal and I am comfortable walking away from both at this point.
Unfortunately I didn't see any stocks that I liked today, but hopefully I'll find a couple more good ones for Monday.

My pick for today is ACDI. They announced on Thursday that they were granted approval for trading on AMEX and had a nice steady day of gains Friday to go up 22%.
Around $2.5million was traded on Friday in this, so it should be easy to get in and out of.
Looks like it may gap a little bit, and I'll watch Level 2s to see if I want to "chase" (only 2.5% up as I'm looking at it now) or wait for a pullback.
I think this will go up another 10-15% or so in the next day or two.
And of course, do your own DD, blah blah blah...

What do you mean out of your league? Like too pricey per share?
Anyway, my picks for today are AENS and FRPT.
AENS ask is 2.91 and FRPT ask is 6.00.
Traffic was bad this morning so I don't have time to go into much detail because I have a lot of work to start on and I'm already like an hour late. I'll post more later.

I just sold half of my ACDI at 2.99. There's a big wall at 3.00 that, if it breaks through could run pretty good, but it also could prove to be too much to break through.
$2.99 / $2.80 = 6.8%, or about $135 on a $2000 investment in just over 1 day. Not spectacular, but like I said, my goal is to get consistent $100 gains per day.

Yep, too pricey per share for the moment but I do read your posts to try to obtain a different view of the market and learn strategy. Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by too pricey per share since if you buy 1 share of a stock for $2000 it's the same as 200,000 shares of a stock that's .01. Price per share doesn't matter, just % change.
Oh well...
Anyway, our office internet was down this morning, so I didn't get to post earlier, but I sold my FRPT at 6.60 for a 10% gain in 2 days.
I'm still holding AENS and half of my ACDI.
My pick for today is SOEN. I'm a bit hesitant on this one since I noticed this morning that it was on like 3 different "watch lists", but I still like it enough to take a shot with it. Ask is currently 1.75 but I actually got in at $1.80.

My pick for today is CWPC. At this point there seems to be a big wall at 6.00, so if I can get in before 5.70 I'll probably sell half at 5.99 which would be about 5%. If it breaks through 6.00 it could go much higher, but as with ACDI, the wall may be too much to overcome.
Speaking of ACDI, it is now trading on AMEX under the symbol KAD.
My current holdings are AENS, ACDI, SOEN and CPTC.

I just sold the second half of my ACID/KAD at 2.92. Not sure what it'll do on AMEX, and figured I'd take a small profit rather than risk a loss.
Got in CWPC at 5.73-5.75. I'm gonna watch its progress today to see if I should sell at 5.99 or see if it can get through 6. It's up about 3.5% already though, so maybe it can do it.

Wow, CWPC blew through 6.00. Obviously was a fake wall. I have a sell order in for 6.21 (8% gain). I'll post if I change my order up or down.

Geez, that was wierd. Pulled back for a bit and then just exploded again. My sell was in for 6.21 but actually executed at 6.22 and 6.23. Looks like it's still going higher, but I took my profit.
I'm now holding only AENS (down 7.5% since my pick) SOEN (up 5.1% since my pick) and CPTC (up 3.3% since my pick).

Ok, I sold half of my CPTC at 1.29 just to take some profit off the table.
My current tally is if you would bought each of my picks and sold when I said to, you would be up about 40% of the amount you put in each (i.e. if you put $1000 in each you'd be up $400, $2000 if you had put $5000 in each).
It's been 8 days, so if you did $2000 per stock you'd be up almost exactly 100/day.
The thing that I'm striving for is to only pick stocks that have enough volume to easily allow you to get in and out of, to avoid creating or being a bagholder.
I'm still holding AENS at a loss and SOEN at a gain. I'll probably cut my losses on AENS at some point today.

pcola, I'm not new to investing but am interested in your stock picks. I am however new to this board and wondering is this the only place you post?

This will be the only place that I post my "semi-daily pick". I post/have posted in other threads, but lately I've been busy at work so haven't posted much other than on this thread.
I don't post on any other sites, if that's what you mean.
The reason that I started this thread was because over the course of the 6+ months that I've been reading this board I hit a few huge winners, but was also left holding the bag far too many times. I was always looking for the quick strike "get rich quick" type of thing that I think everyone starts out looking for.
I got sick of holding the bag from "momo" plays all the time, and so I started doing my own research and trying to find a good way to pick stocks. I found what seemed to be a good method, and I went 3 weeks where I averaged like $200/day paper trading before I started this thread. I picked 28 stocks, and over the 3+ weeks, 23 of the 28 had gained at least 6% when I "sold" them.
I decided that for me, steady $100-$200 daily gains to supplement my income is going to pay off more in the long term than making $2000 one day and losing $500 each day for the next week, which is what I seemed to do.
Who knows, maybe I'll make enough that this can switch to my main source of income, but for now, it's just meant to be a steady supplement.

Pcola77 thanks for your response. I also don't expect instant wealth however, I do own a lot of shares in a couple penny stocks and do believe that the golden egg can be laid if you own the right chicken. Do I have the right chicken? Only time will tell. I like your approach to wealth. I would rather nickle and dime it and eventually accumulate wealth than chasing after that chicken lol... I'll continue to watch you posts and again thanks for your insights.

Just sold the 2nd half of my CPTC at 1.39. As usual, I believe it still has upside but took my profits for a 14% gain.
Also, I was planning to bail on AENS Monday, but didn't realize that the market closed early... Duh...
I'll be getting out of it at some point today, most likely.
I'm still holding SOEN as well.
My pick for today was going to be USGL at 9.05 but I wanted to wait to see if it moved one way or the other this morning at the open, after closing Monday at like 8.93. It went up to 9.20 so I'm putting an order in to buy at 9.05 as my pick. It may not get back down there but I don't want to buy in after a 3%+ gain. I'll post if I get in.

No pick for today. SOEN and USGL are both down. Hasn't been the best couple of days, but I still think both can bounce back. I'm gonna bail on SOEN at some point today I think, but I am going to hold USGL for a while still.

Ok, just got out of SOEN at 1.82. Bid is now 1.82, so it may go up further, but I had this one for about a week and it didn't continue the momentum that it had from the day before I picked it, so I took my modest profit (like 1%) to free up the funds for my next pick.
I'm only holding USGL right now. It hit a low of 8.35 (down about 7.5% since I picked it at 9.05) but has come back to 8.85 (still down a little over 2%).

Not enough volume for me. 10day average is about $200,000. I try to have picks with $1Mil+ average volume so that it's easy to get in and out of, and they are also less succeptable to a big drop (also limits upside, but I'm not going for 50% gains, just a nice 5-20%)
Thanks for the heads up though.

My pick for tomorrow is VTSS. Closed Friday at 1.66. I'll update in the AM with what I get in at, but I've been having issues with construction and traffic and twice last week I wasn't in the office by 9:30, so it took me longer than I wanted to post my pick.

My pick for today is CXTI. I really like this one. I think I may have been trynig too hard the last few days to find picks, instead of waiting for ones that I really like. From now on I'm only going ot post ones that I feel strongly about, and so I'll probably only have a couple in a given week. We'll see how it goes.
