But, i think it was much riskier than everyone beleived. What i know today is that the govt. is mostly fraud waste and abuse. I know this for fact, i'm not guessing or speculating at all.
The things i've seen first-hand are not quite as frigged up as this is ; Of 28 examiners with the FBI Laboratory’s microscopic hair comparison unit, 26 overstated forensic matches in ways that favored prosecutors in more than 95 percent of the 268 trials reviewed so far, according to the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) and the Innocence Project, which are assisting the government with the country’s largest post-conviction review of questioned forensic evidence.
those people friggin testified under oath. It makes me sick.
however, the waste fraud and abuse has become so ingrained into all levels of the Govt that IMO it's pretty hopelss to beleive anything they say anymore, even in NIH funded research papers and other govt sponsored works. The amount of unreproducable scientific publication (in other words, fraud) sponsored by the govt through grants is bad, and the direct product of govt employees is twice as bad at best estimate right now.
even worse: i've looked at about 20 fraudulent patents this year filed for and by the US govt. the problem is systemic. these patents are about performance evaluations and getting ridiculously low annual performance bonuses. People are selling their integrity and ultimately other people's lives, health and well-being for bonuses that are less than 5,000$. Those same performance bonuses are why the VA was hiding the waiting lists of patients. They get rated and bonuses based on how long the waiting lists are, so they just erased the lists.
it's pretty insane.

another good example of how bad our scientific integrity has gotten is clearly exemplified by the FDA's new aproval system for new drugs, and their willingness to pull known safe drugs from the market because they compete with new unproven drugs. The whole program is just one big scam. people beleive that the FDA tests drugs for safety- THEY DO NOT!
The only thing the FDA makes them prove is that peopel don't drop dead in a week, and that the drug works better than placebo. That's it. They leave teh rest to teh lawyers. That's why we see so many lawyers are running TV ads that ask if you or a loved one has been ijnured or killed by a drug- I can't get over how many peopel beleive the Govt tested their prescritptins. You are the test if the drug you are prescribed is less than four years old....

apparently anybody private who got hold of the few moon rock samples that were released has had them confiscated in the last few years- even if it was legally obtained.
no publicly released research on those samples showed anything that wasn't also on earth...
maybe i want to believe?

I believe we did, But you might as well flip a coin. How could you prove it ?

i always assumed we have earthbased teslascopes that can see the landing sites, apparently, i was wrong about that but a 2013 flyby with NASA's new Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter shows something and they claim it's the apollo 11 lander.. is it? i can't tell...
until i see some guy standing on the moon with museum quality evidence in his hand? i will keep wanting to beleive and admit that it is possible that we were fooled because we wall wanted to beleive.

If any nation were to land people on the moon it would be the U.S. so I don't really get too far into the disbelief. Aren't we sending people to mars on a one way trip soon? If I was an investor in space X I wouldn't invest if I knew the lunar landing was a hoax.

no we aren't sending anybody to mars until this problem is solved:
NASA Challenge: Reducing Exposure to Galactic Cosmic Rays through Active and Passive Shielding Share this Challenge: fb_buttontw_button NASA is seeking solutions for decreasing astronauts’ radiation exposure from Galactic Cosmic Rays (GCR) while on long duration crewed missions in free space. The GCR present a ubiquitous and omnidirectional radiation source that yields a persistent exposure rate which can lead to unacceptable cancer risk for deep space missions lasting 150 days or more. This Challenge solicits solutions utilizing configurations of passive and/or active shielding aimed at reducing exposure to the GCR for such missions.
This Challenge requires only a written proposal.
Challenge 9933638 Deadline: June 29, 2015 Reward: $29,000
look up Innocentive if you want more details. NASA and Innocentive and other outfits that offer these miniscule bounties for really big ideas are mostly trying to get disgruntled lab techs, grad students and other Research Support Personnel to give away their labs secrets for a pittance....
Innocentive runs dozens of challenges per week... NASA also runs these challenge scenarios on their own as well as with innocnetive

here's another current one that shows a hidden danger that few are aware of. It's not exaclty a seceret, but it shows you that we do not much safety testing new products. We are the guinea pigs for the most part...
Water Resistant Technologies for Synthetic Fabrics Share this Challenge: fb_buttontw_button
This Challenge is seeking water-repellent technologies or treatments for synthetic fabrics. The Seeker is soliciting these new approaches for use in rain-shedding outerwear. The current industry standard, long chain poly(fluoroalkyl acrylate) based coatings, are being phased out due to environmental and safety concerns, and high performing alternatives are needed.
This is an ideation challenge and only requires a written solution.
