One Republican’s Last Ditch Effort To Undermine Obamacare: ‘Break The Law And Engage In Civil Disobedience’
By Scott Keyes on Jan 10, 2013 at 11:50 am
After Republicans spent the past three years unsuccessfully opposing health care reform en masse — introducing dozens of failed repeal bills, losing a Supreme Court case, and being defeated in a presidential election — former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL) is promoting a last-ditch effort to undermine Obamacare: simply “break the law.”
At a rally in Chicago on Wednesday, the one-term Tea Party congressman encouraged supporters to block health care reform and prospective gun laws in whatever way possible, legally or illegally. DNAinfo Chicago has more:
At his most aggressive, he told dozens of supporters to “defy and or break the law and engage in civil disobedience” if faced with federal health care law restrictions or new gun laws.
He paraphrased Thomas Jefferson in saying, “We may have to shed blood every couple hundred years to preserve our freedoms.”
Walsh’s comments reflect a disturbing recent trend among Republicans desperate to undo health care reform by any means necessary. Lawmakers in two states, Wisconsin and South Carolina, have proposed legislation to arrest any official caught trying to implement Obamacare. In South Carolina, the legislation proposed a possible five-year prison sentence for federal employees or contractors who attempt to enforce the law.
Since being voted out of office in November, Walsh has been openly weighing a run for Illinois governor in 2014.

I can tell by your recent posts that the phrase "civil disobedience" scares the hell out of you, doesn't it Ray? -------------------------------------------------
explain Buck what you mean I find it very interesting how the right is reacting thats why I posted this topic as for being afraid the answer is no I was never afraid of the left when they went into civil disobedience why should I be scared of the right if they do the same thing.
However again I will repeat to you enforcement was never my job. I never got involved.
And glass I get it very well your props are very nice.
The nice thing about America is we all have choices to make so make yours and do what you want I won't stand in your way. Start another revolution if you want the only request that I have is you recruit cash and take him with you.

it already happened once, and it will happen again, you keep acting as if i am some sort of ringleader and will end up in jail, i aint nearly that dumb. if i go to jail? it will be becausse i choose to go. i will decide how i will protest, i may only need to vote. i merely speak truth to power, i am not a self appoointed or chosen leader of anything. don'wannabe one
the Republican Revolution, Revolution of '94 or Gingrich Revolution is what the media dubbed the Republican Party (GOP) success in the 1994 U.S. midterm elections,[1] which resulted in a net gain of 54 seats in the House of Representatives, and a pickup of eight seats in the Senate. The clear leader of the so-called revolution was Republican congressman Newt Gingrich, who became Speaker of the House as a result of the victory.
as i recall? Clinton signed the gun ban on Sept 13, of 94 the same day it was passed by the house.. this was fresh in the minds of voters (less than 2 months) when they took the Dems off the job and replaced them with a bunch of numbskulls....that's coming again dude, and nothing else worthwhile will get done for years now.
wasting political capital is foolish... that is on Obama, tomorrow we will find out if he thinks he's a President or a King or an Emperor when he announces his new executive orders, it could be bad... then watch for the stupid impeachment plans to be made and another ten years of congressioanl BS....
stooopidity to damax... and a big waste too boot.

no friggin way cashcowmoo, we have a responisbility to protect the people that risk their live to protect us. we also have the explicit right to protect ourselves. garanteed by the 2nd. it's not like a driver's license, since that was not specifically mentioned as a right, even tho it should be a right. because it is impossible to make living anymore without a car.
There were privately-owned cannon and privately-owned warships with cannon in the Revolution. hence teh Founders did not make distonction about what type of arms can be privaltely owned, the Constitution and Bill of Rights were written by the same people who kept a brace of working field pieces as lawn decorations. A cannon loaded with cannsiters of grape shot WAS in fact he 1700's and 1800's equivalent of an automatic machine gun. The first rapid fire machine gun (200rounds per minute) was invented by a certain medical Doctor named gatlin. His intention was to show the ignorance and futility of the cavalry charge. he said that noone would be foolish enough to mount a charge agaisnt one of these, and that it would end war.... silly boy...
we legitimate and responsible gun owners have in fact already conceded many of our rights, and we have done so willingly. no more. period. The NRA supprted the 1930'a laws that restrcited (not banned) private ownership of real assault weapons like the thompson 45 favored by gansters and bank robbers... it was a simple and well designed dependable machine
