just found one when i was out looking at property.

62K original miles almost nothing changed on i tever, except it was retrofitted for the new Air conditoning liquid...

it's like out of time a capusle. minor sun damage onthe dash and the rear deack am radio with factory single dash speaker factory installed air slant six single barrel carb the factory dodge blue paint on the motor is original. four doors (bummer) all factory tinted glass the paint has a lot of real damage, worn thru spots from bird crap or tree sap, but no dings, no body putty. the only rust on it is in thetrunk lid and right ta the bas eo fthe rear window pillars.

i've never been a dodge or six cylinder person, but i swear the head looks like it has to be a hemi, it's twice as wide as any small block V8 head i've ever seen....

i had to get it, the pricewas too low, nnow i don't want to drive it cuz it's got such low mileage... it'll be fun to have for awhile...

after a little washing and llube on all the hinges locks and other door and trunl and hoodhardware? the doors opens and close like it's inthe sjhowroom... never seen a real used car likethis inmy life... plenty of show cars way better, but this thing is not a show car. it's just had an easy life...

SO WHAT MAN! Stop acting like an old man, and get that thing going and cruise it. Are you waiting for gas prices to go up more before you drive it? Do you think you can handle such a car? If its too much car and you are afraid to drive it then sell it to me!

cash, i had NASCAR Drivers licesne for years.

i bet i've walked away from more wrecks than yu have owned cars.

i'm not even one of the Dodge Boyz... you old enough to remebr them?

it was just something that popped up in my life, and i am happy to have it. reminds me of the Faclon that my dad had when i was in elementary school.. they were Fords version of the small four door family car...

curb weight somewhere around 2500 pounds... perfect to put in big block and drag race in, but no handling, and no brakes either.

i worked through thru my need for speed at the track long ago.

this car is really cool and i will cruise it after we put some sound in the trunk, but six clinder is nothing like hat i have been intoin the past... samll blocks runing on CAM2 is more what i've done before.

it was the time capsule thing that got me onthis... it's a super clean used car...

i've bene driving by one of htese under a shade tree for a long time now, but cannot get the owner to part with it.

the one i am looking at will require a year of hard work to revive, but it will be worht it if i can get the old feller to give 'er up:

now that would be something to tear up the roads with again...

i would, i'd go for the deep blues that dodge was known for back in the day... you have to remember tho that odd colors were popular inthe late 60's and early 70's.

i fell in love with the BOSS Mustang a teh showroom in th espring of 1970,(still elem. school for me) and it was mustard yellow with black trim and rear window louvre... not guldens mustard, Frenches brilliant eye hurting yellow mustard! the kind that begs the cops to TRY to give you a ticket for chirping all four gears athe light [Wink]

unfrotuanltely we don't have the loop here jordan... we gots farmland as far as you can see....

i'mnot tryingto play it down, i am enjoying this, it's just not a hotrod, it's a real authentic 69 4 door with realistic but very very light wear and tear.

IMO, i twould be a sin to change anything so i'll put the sound in th erunk and the stereo will have to be carefully mounted so that it cna be removed for authenticity.

the air is factory, and it woks, but they did add the new fitting for the new coolant stuff, which might be bad cuz it doens't alwyas have enough lubricant in it for t heold models. it works right now and i'll have to do some research and see if i don;t want to convert it back if i can...

i could just about curl up and take a nap in the engine compartment, no smog crap, nothing but the carb, the heater hoses ac hoses motor and radiator...

teh tinted window are really ool, they aren't as dark as modern stuff, but the tinting is noticable, and every bit of glass is evenly tinted the same color...

i feel like i should see my dad get out if coming home from work in hist suit and fedora pipe clenched in his teeth puffing awya [Smile]

I had a 68 dodge dart gts 340 red with stripe, i believe that had the torqueflite trans, it was a monster. It looked like the 69 in the photo below but was hardtop.

When i went to asia my mom would drive it around town.

A tree fell on it in the back yard when i was gone, they fixed it up but i ended up trading it in when i got back, never was quite the same.

and all those are V8's with 2 doors. this one is just a 4 door with with the slant6. family car, not muscle car, and not one that would be a real restoration project IMO...
it's like a Dad's car. it's still pretty neat tho. the price was fair, i didn't steal it but i won't lose money. i'm not even sure i want to paint it, i may just clear kote it with a few touchups, i don't know whihc is better to do for original stuff. a touchup that is not designed to do anything more than make it look "normal" or nothing at all. it may be better to just wax it... Jr will learn a few things anyway...
we even got he origianl bill of sale and a detailed history of maintenance. the manual was no in the glovebox, it was in the file, it's pristine...

I had a 76 Dodge 1/2 ton PU with a truck transmission and a slant 6: bulletproof drive train and torque to burn. Went all over Arkansas with it, picking out the most remote mountain-top lakes off a USGS map. Pretty decent mileage, too...back in the day.

Glassman those are fun to drive around in, like Tex said a great engine.

Looks like Buckstalker going to need a real good helmit and safety harness. They must have a lot of sand where those housing developements were.

Thought you needed a tank to go through Detroit, not an open dune buggy.

Me and the guy down the street went to build a sand buggy back in high school, got the frame and gas tank done(beer keg) but gave up for some reason.

Did you see the price listed new for that 69 dart 340-$3200 makes me sick when compared to the new ones today.

Back in 66 and 67 i was making around $9.00 an hour, one job i was making pool skimmers on piece work part time in high shool and the next job i was working for the flood control for six months.

Today if you work for 9 an hour and pay gas etc. no way you can save to pay for these new cars unless its way way down the line.

Makes you sick thinking about it especially for the young people.

Just don't see those dune buggies around much anymore at least not here.

Back in the 60's 70's saw them all the time, on and off the streets.

Maybe they are to dangerous for the streets anymore with all the traffic, or will they reappear as so many of the 60's items seem to do these days.

That's a nice one buckstalker has, someone put some time in making that one and a few bucks.
