NEWS FLASH New Hampshire Implements Obamacare On Day Of GOP Primary | Yesterday, as Republican presidential candidates criss-crossed New Hampshire pledging to repeal the Affordable Care Act in its entirety, the state’s Senate Commerce Committee “unanimously voted to set up a Health Insurance Exchange” as required by President Obama’s law. Senate Bill 163 would create a “hybrid” exchange, “governed in different aspects by a nonprofit stakeholder board of directors, the Insurance Department and the Department of Human Services for determining eligibility for subsidies.” The bill — which was actually introduced by an opponent of reform — would “allow a Senate-House joint committee to pull the plug on any aspect of the exchange if federal health reform were to be overturned, partially or wholly.” In last night’s election, just 5 percent of Republican primary voters said health care was their primary concern, despite the GOP’s incessant attacks on the law.
