Ok so I was wondering if anyone had some creative campfire site ideas perhaps ones that you have used yourself. One of my properties I am wanting to construct a permanent campfire/camp site for me and friends to go out and have some beers around. I have built many normal campfires/sites before but this one needs to be something cool.

So I have a ton of small, medium, and large limestone rocks and boulders. We have plenty of firewood and space to work with. Would like a area circle of about 5-8ft maybe? Some natural bench type long tree trunks for seating or something like that. Something that can be left out there and not blow away or succumb to the elements. Would like to have a set up to cook over the fire. Really looking for random ideas to make the campsite a lot more unique. Below are some pictures of the area, and of the rocks I will be using from the ground. The rocks look pretty flat in the picture, but there are also square-ish/rectangular rocks to build a base on.

We have a backhoe in case we need to do some heavier excavating/construction of the pit and surrounding area.

We have a small creek running through the property that is mainly seasonal. There is always a trickle of water or pools, but can dry up in summer if it is hot enough. We also have a small pond on the property, but I am not sure if the campsite should be close to it because of bugs and other animals that tend to be close to it like copperheads, and other critters. Ton of turkey, coyotes, bobcats, and big bucks on the land.

Well I could only upload one picture, the other files were too big for image shack. so if you could have the perfect campsite and fire pit, what all ideas would you do?

Also, any campsite bathroom ideas for the women? For me I always used to just dig a hole. Maybe a portable toilet seat over a hole with a spot for TP for the women. Lot easier for guys to camp, but want the ladies to feel comfortable staying out all night too.

the notion of a campfire is pretty hard to get excited about around here these days... i don't remebr th elsat time the high temp was below 100, but i am sure we haven't had heat index below 100 since June... maybe even May....

today was nice cuz the humidity was below 50% for the first time in weeks. I was really surprised when i checked and found the "nice" weather was only 104 [Wink]

Well we hit a high of 111 here last week. Im just getting it ready for fall. Before too long our weather pattern begins to change and will get our much needed cool off.

Big Bucks ehh?

Sounds like you need some help "thinning out" some of the herd...as well as designing/building a fire pit?

I would be glad to assist in the "thinning"

anyone have an idea of how much a 15ft deep 5 acre farm pond would cost to construct...roughly.
