Detroit's defense sucks big donkeys but the truth is that the Lions main deficiency is in their secondary. Vick has shown he can still run, but he hasn't proved that he can connect on a long ball. Nor has he had much time working with D-Jack and the other Eagles receivers. Vick may not be able to capitalize on the Lions weaknesses.
Also consider that you want your QB's opponent to score at least a little so he has to keep airing the ball. For the Lions #2 Shaun Hill is under center going against a good pass protection defense in the Eagles. For the running game Kevin Smith is likely out and Javid Best has a bad toe. It is possible that the Lions will struggle to even get on the board.
Vick can run the ball but when the game is well in hand who do you expect the coaches will want taking tackles? The QB or the RB's? I know he likes him but I doubt even Andy Reid wants to see Kafka taking center stage just yet.
I think Rivers against the Jags is a much safer option. Jags are nearly as bad against the pass as the Lions and you know Rivers can connect with Gates and Naanee. Chargers are still trying to figure out a good running game without LT so you know there is gonna be plenty of airtime.
I'll admit that Vick is tempting but I think he is just too much of a bust risk to start.

I think there should be a fantasy politics for picking the November election. It would be like a single super bowl game. I already know a bunch on here would draft the losing team.

Agreed CCM. I have seen a few groups that do it, but none have found a format that works without being so complicated that people don't find it any fun.
If someone were to come up with a format that works and get it mainstream there would be a good payday on that I think.

k I still say Rivers but I am changing my tune on Vick. To be honest I picked him up on Thursday when it was announced he would get the start over a healthy Kolb. I still don't trust him or his front line against tough defenses but will start him when the matchup looks nice like it did on Sunday.

I started Vick last week, might do it again.
The problem here is Arizona's secondary is terrible, and Vick is Vick. If Vick sees nothing downfield or is rushed he can outrun just about anyone on the field.
This is gonna be a pain in the butt decision every week for me.

Got a friend who has a league with an $800 entry requirement. Too steep for me but I guess he likes the intense competition it breeds, plus the pay off if you do well is substantial.
