Take a look at the newer version on the link above and tell us what you think please.

So....are you gonna start charging to be a member here? And you have to be a member to post? That link is not very clear on that point.
Or is that the wrong link? Because there is no link to Allstocks. It looks like a developer website?

It is the site of the maker for this boards software. Main reason to change is to stop the spam bots from registering via a coding for registration page.
All will be kept as close to the same as it is possible.
We will not be charging.
Thank you for the comments.

For once, it is change I really CAN believe in. I think you should try it out Bob. Never know how well it will work until you try it!

As long as the format of the board doesn't change, I will stay. I'd prefer to go to i-hub if the format were to change. I-hub formatting stinks because one has to click on a particular post to see the ENTIRE thread. No other stock message board has allstocks formatting. HSM has a dying format. A live messaging system to allstocks, would be an upgrade, similar to Instant messaging where anyone logged in can post. That would keep a traders' interest.
On the current forum I would change the homepage format, so that more options can be viewed without scrolling down.

So what is the plan on the upgrade? Any decisions made?

The idea is great. Bringing the home page info to an "easier to reach" location will benefit the site. Plus the different features will be great. Even better is your goal to keep the site completely open. The "extras" certainly can be fee based. Getting use to a new format isn't that difficult. I like the version 8 format so far, as well as the shout box. Good luck.

I want to do the upgrade for the more secure, less spammers problems. Yesterday alone we had more than 30 spammers register. They are using some kind of automated program to create links back to their websites for increased search engine popularity. We have to approve each registration in an effort to keep them out. Otherwise we would be flooded with spam.

Good idea, lets try something new! How long before the new site is up?
