why shouldnt I?...thats really a strange thing to say,cash...we all know that this is common practice in war..this is just more proof...its not a left or right thing..dont be so quick to defend something that is so blatantly wrong. Those in the chopper could of handled that situation very differently, but they were eager to use their weapons...dont u think those on the ground knew the chopper was up there?..and if they were the enemy they would of taken cover. but maybe you arent defending this..if so, I am sorry. maybe you are just antagonized by me?

I am not defending it. Just pointing out the kind of news you tend to look for.

Unfortunately military dominance is not a high priority for liberals, and this program was cancelled under the Barrack Obama administration. (F-22)
Apparently spending tax dollars on things like cellphones for the poor (tracphone), and promoting the census so poor neighborhoods get more of your tax dollars is of higher importance than the military, and NASA.

cash. the F22 is being replaced by the F35. The f22 is a "better" strike plane but it costs four times as much to build and maintain. The F35 is much more versatile since it can be built to be land based, it can do vertical landings and short takes offs and can be carrier based... it was question of which way to spend the money, we can't have both in this economic environment.
the RAND corporation (which is not liberal in any sense of the word recomended phsing out the F22 several years ago... after running simulations of a China-Tawian scenario, they claimed the Raptors fule range was not long enough. The F35's carrier and short take off capabilities make the "fix" to that scenario. The Navy didn't want the F22 and that ran the cost up. The navy does want the F35.The biggest problem is that the F-22's landing speed is too high for landing on aircraft carriers, and solving this would pretty much require turning it into a swing-wing fighter. Doing that and keeping the F-22's stealthy characteristics wasn't considered reasonable or affordable, as you'd wind up designing basically an entirely new aircraft.
is Rand plying lobbyist for defense contractors? sure.
BOEING gets cut out and is replaced by Northrup Grummnan. Lockheed remains the majority contractor.

Bottom line is most of our troops should have been out of harms way along time ago.
Same old story, just a new President with the same old crap.
Quite a few did not vote for McCain for fear of him keeping our troops in Iraq for this period of time and increasing wars on other fronts.
Always a reason to stay and enter other fronts.
The media has helped the Presidents cause by pretty much not talking about the wars, hardly a word in the newspapers anymore, yet our troops stay.
As i have stated before, keep sending more body bags and placing those purple hearts on the soldiers, that oil is worth it!

Some day people will wake up and see the simple most wars are for the gain of the super powerful and rich. One would think that we have evolved enough to do away with them by now.

I am more worried about the new Chinese aircraft carriers in development along with their new line of stealth aircraft.

yep, our so-called "free-trade policies" are paying for their build-up too...
i heard Donald Trump today on Cavuto suggest a 50% import duty in Chinese goods. He said it would pay of the treasury debt we have incurred with them real quick, and create jobs here at home. I was thinking 7 or 8% would be good, and that suggesting 50% would be too radical, but now i am willing to suggest 50% also.

So where does the Taliban fall into that? Insurgents living and fighting out of caves and it is 2010.
