Its been 6 years past due for me this year I will retire and do the things I have wanted to do for years.I wonder if anybody else has gone thru this or getting close. At work they still want me to stay on,but I say no.

What do you consider retirement age? It's pretty subjective depending upon your financial situation.

Ray, I retired 3 years ago at age 49...I took 2 years off, got bored and went back to work...only this time under "my" conditions

Retiring is very strange at first...but it ain't bad

Thanks Buck I know that after 2 years I will want to do something else. I am starting to let my line of work grate on me. Its getting to tough and I am getting to old.

I really feel for the guards, they face issues like I never had to when I was starting out. I don't know if I could deal with what they have to any more.

Thanks all of you for your interest and comments.
