Sorry sheep, about 10 Trillion is just too much. Try to listen to the people, this is not what YOU want to do.

cash, from your article<

Obama's tax-cutting agenda is by far the biggest contributor to those budget gaps, the CBO said. As part of his campaign pledge to protect families making less than $250,000 a year from new taxes, the president is proposing to prevent the alternative minimum tax from expanding to ensnare millions of additional taxpayers.

I think people look to much directly at your general income tax. Any tax cuts are made on the back end somewhere else.

Cash, i cannot help but to continue to repat that our budget deficits are the least of our problems now.

they are not good, but these budget deficits were etched in stone over the last 7 years of cutting taxes while engaging in what amounts to a worldwide war on terror.

If McCain or any other GOP had been elected? Or the Congress was still GOP run? all of this would still be the same exact problem we have today.

The tax rates after WW2 were up to 90% that's how you pay for war. it's an inescapable fact.

the REAL problem is our TRADE DEFICIT!

you threw out a scary figure of the future, but here's what has already happened, and it is the major contributory factor to our accumulation of debt...

Cumulative U.S. Trade Deficit Soars to $9.13 Trillion in 2008

With a trade deficit of $677.1 billion in 2008, the U.S. has completed its 33rd consecutive year with a trade deficit which, since the last surplus in 1975, is now a cumulative $9.13 trillion (in constant 2005 dollars). Although the trade deficit declined for the second year in a row, from $753.3 billion in 2006 to $700.3 billion in 2007 to $677.1 billion in 2008, the decline last year was due entirely to the recession. Were it not for the dramatic decline the last two months of 2008 caused by the collapse of the global economy, the 2008 trade deficit would have been at least $717 billion. And, since the recession began in December of 2007, it’s likely that the entire year’s deficit, not just the last two months, was affected by the global slowdown. It’s possible that the 2008 trade deficit would have been a record without it. The fact that the deficit declined is good news. The fact that the decline was accomplished by trashing the economy is not.

Oh I agree, and I am glad McCain didnt win. With that said...Obama wasnt the right man for the job either. What EXPERIENCE does Obama have anyway? I mean he was barely a Senator before running, and his voting record (lack of) is terrible.

How can anyone honestly say he is the right man for America?

Oh I know you didnt think he was a superman. I know there will never be a perfect one. Heard a good question asked of someone the other day. They asked a Democratic congresswoman what the statute of limitations is on Bush when it comes to running out of excuses.

yeah, and my only point these days is that this country would be well served if we spent more energy being critical of the proper flaws.

Obama made a lot of silly "promises" in his campaign.

should he have made 'em? no, but the electorate demands it.

i know people are tired of hearing about Bush's faults but 'member how he said he was going to fund Churches to do "good"?
he never did, and the reason he never did was because he never intended to- it was just a campaign "promise".

they all do it, and if you become politician? you have to do it too... I like Biden cuz he often says exactly what is on his mind. Every time he does it? the Media rips him up for it-- calls him a gaff machine.

it's always been this way too, i bet it was just like this in Rome. Of course TV reception wasn't as good then cuz they hadn't invented antennaes yet [Big Grin]

as for qualified people? I think Bloomberg is qualified. I don't think he's electable.

When the kids come home, the wars are paid off, and the economy recovers Cow. That's when the statute of limitations is enacted on the Bush presidency.

That doesn't include all of his blunders but they are the most visible ones and a good benchmark to go by.

Yeah but glass do you remember how much HE was claiming to be different? The ephiphany, people fainting at his rallies, CHANGE, I mean he had (has) a zombie following! All politicians say they are different, but he really was trying to insist something magical would happen if he won.

Still got seven years. I hear he already bought his wand at Magiquest. lol

That was a joke but I think you dismiss some important things to easily Cow.

Been looking at what's happening inside Pakistan lately?

Reid bungled the announcement and he deserves the ridicule he is getting but unemployment is down under 10%, less than 50k jobs lost in January, wages are growing again, consumer spending is growing again. We are going to start seeing positive numbers soon.

Obama is fighting his own democrats to get funding for two new nuke plants in Georgia.

....It's not all socialism mate. You know I am not against his healthcare push so it is easy for me to say that but there are a number of achievements here that are changing things and very few people are even talking about em.
