I have to agree with Relentless on this one. The Repubs needed some kind of stagecraft to take the push away from Obama.
Not saying I support it, but from their point of view something had to interrupt the momentum he was trying to rebuild.

Wilson raises more than $200,000 after outburst
(CNN) -- Less than a day after Rep. Joe Wilson formally apologized to President Obama over his "you lie" outburst, a campaign aide confirms that the South Carolina Republican has raised "more than $200,000" in the wake of the now-infamous moment.
News of that cash haul comes after Wilson directly asked in a Web video for campaign cash to fend off attacks from political opponents and said he's standing by his opposition to Democratic efforts at health care reform.

this is why Obama is such a great leader he has done nothing stupid he is letting nature take its course. I personaly love Obama and think he is one of the finest Presidents this country has had.
Now for all of you who dislike him in his speach did you hear his comment about pre existing conditions how it will be against the law people have to be excepted. My friends that was the line in the sand that itself is one of the main issues that the isurers don't want to change and will fight like crazy people to keep it like it is.. That issue alone is where Obama is telling all the poor the people that could only donate $25.00 to his presidential race and the etremely poor that voted for him that I am with you and not giving in to big money and it is war from now on he threw down the glove with that statement and god bless him. Now its time to support him all of you that agree with him.

lil' early for that, imo. Potential? Sure. But he really hasn't handled very well 1) selling his vision of the health-care revamp, including reaction to the haters or 2) explaining the width and depth of the urgently necessary market reform.
It's Wilson's opponent who reported raising the $750k--no violins on TV.
Different 750K... Wilson got it during his last campaign from medical insurance companies and the sort... Forget where I read it... Saw it yesterday while zooming around the net.

looking over that list, though, no smoking gun jumps out.
personal example: if someone were to parse my posts here, on only one message board, dating back only to '05? I could be made to look pretty bad, inconsistent, etc.
Yeah, I know: this is *not* about me...but that's an easy, quick example.
It *would* be fun to run across a successful pol whose record is completely straight, verifiable and consistent from day one...but, then, it's fun to pretend, too.

Oh I understand and take that into account... The guy is on stage or under the gun for pretty much 12 years or more... natural inconsistencies will emerge.. He's not a robot. But there are some fairly decent lies in those lists.. The bit about his religion.. Blackwater... Campaign promises...
He's a politician.. It's not a monstrous leap to think he lies...

well, it seems to me peeps are unduly parsing... for example, W got a pass (somehow) on *all those* outrageous gaffes in which he sounded kinda like he must've been dropped on his head, early on--until finally it was clear that he had no business running the country.
Now...religion? Back to my personal examples: if I were gonna run? I gotta tell ya, I would *not* know how to "position" myself. I have no problem with a populace who identifies itself as Christian: I pray, myself. And those prayers might sound "Christian"...to, God save me, to "real Christians." But I also don't have a problem with "real Bhuddists." Whether my private thoughts would resonate, I dunno...but I suspect they would; same with "true Muslims" and "real Jews"...etc etc. Lately, I've been running with a gal who identifies as Pagan.
Fine by me.
The more we talk, the more we see similarities between her Paganism and my Toltec structures.

Some childhood stuff that could or could not be true, we will never know. I will admit I think he had some early childhood education in a Muslim tradition but I that has nothing to do with now. He isn't a Muslim.
Good gravy there is a lot of crap in this list Relentless. The guy doesn't even give him a gimme for falling of the wagon while trying to quit smoking and uses a childhood essay titled "Why I want to be President" to prove a long term plan was in place.
I am not sure I can read much more of this tonight. I still don't see any lies within his campaign promises but perhaps I haven't gotten there yet.

May 22, 1856 The Caning of Senator Charles Sumner
On May 22, 1856, the "world's greatest deliberative body" became a combat zone. In one of the most dramatic and deeply ominous moments in the Senate's entire history, a member of the House of Representatives entered the Senate chamber and savagely beat a senator into unconsciousness.
The inspiration for this clash came three days earlier when Senator Charles Sumner, a Massachusetts antislavery Republican, addressed the Senate on the explosive issue of whether Kansas should be admitted to the Union as a slave state or a free state. In his "Crime Against Kansas" speech, Sumner identified two Democratic senators as the principal culprits in this crime—Stephen Douglas of Illinois and Andrew Butler of South Carolina. He characterized Douglas to his face as a "noise-some, squat, and nameless animal . . . not a proper model for an American senator." Andrew Butler, who was not present, received more elaborate treatment. Mocking the South Carolina senator's stance as a man of chivalry, the Massachusetts senator charged him with taking "a mistress . . . who, though ugly to others, is always lovely to him; though polluted in the sight of the world, is chaste in his sight—I mean," added Sumner, "the harlot, Slavery."
Representative Preston Brooks was Butler's South Carolina kinsman. If he had believed Sumner to be a gentleman, he might have challenged him to a duel. Instead, he chose a light cane of the type used to discipline unruly dogs. Shortly after the Senate had adjourned for the day, Brooks entered the old chamber, where he found Sumner busily attaching his postal frank to copies of his "Crime Against Kansas" speech.
Moving quickly, Brooks slammed his metal-topped cane onto the unsuspecting Sumner's head. As Brooks struck again and again, Sumner rose and lurched blindly about the chamber, futilely attempting to protect himself. After a very long minute, it ended.
Bleeding profusely, Sumner was carried away. Brooks walked calmly out of the chamber without being detained by the stunned onlookers. Overnight, both men became heroes in their respective regions.
Surviving a House censure resolution, Brooks resigned, was immediately reelected, and soon thereafter died at age 37. Sumner recovered slowly and returned to the Senate, where he remained for another 18 years. The nation, suffering from the breakdown of reasoned discourse that this event symbolized, tumbled onward toward the catastrophe of civil war.
