first off? the changes that were suggested were no the changes needed.
secondly? the House dems did not block it, the bill died in the senate in committee. i posted this from the dotgov site.
mostly? fannie and freddie did the same thing every one else was doing.
countrywide was competing against fannie direclty.
fact is? fannie was created so that people could get their first house. now everybody was buying as many houses as they could the same way.... it was the whole market being irresponsible.
here's the real problem. the GOP lost these elections because nobody trusts them anymore. period. end of story. trust is not regained by lying more...
it's like the mark to market rule. if they re-instate that ? the books will "LOOK" better. but they'll still be the same ....

they say the democrats killed the bill in the senate committee. well, guess what? the GOP (as they point out) was in control of the committee.
you have to want to beleive in order to beleive the crap fox news spews.
the committee was GOP owned. they killed it.
furhtermore? in the vidoe article they say the committee would have created a new government REGULATOR! to oversee fannie, this is exactly what the GOP says they don't want.
fox news is not news, it's propaganda...
