In spite of the claims, none of the diets tested even tried to be high protein or low carbohydrate. Almost buried in this blurb is an admission that each of the diets tested "were high in whole grains", which is specifically disallowed in high protein and low carbohydrate diets, because a diet "high in whole grains" is necessarily high in carbohydrates and, since, as a requirement, it attains most of its specified caloric content via those whole grains, cannot be high in protein too, or it would contain an oversupply of calories.
