I don't see a single pro in your post. Your pros simply equate to even more hours working and less time for realxation, family, whatever.
Speaking for myself, it's not possible. Maybe for a handful of my employees but not for the bulk of them. Our business is conditioned around "immediate need" and if we can't respond when needed, there's others that will.

We are at 4 10s right now. Not becuase of gas but becuase of extended hours due to traffic. Going to tens was the only way to do it without hiring more part-timers.
It's alright but that first day is just spent recovering. Constant 10's wear on you. I think I'd choose it over 8's though if I had the choice.

I work 5x 14 hour days. Mon-Fri. I have been doing it for 6+ years now. I would love to have a 4 day work week and I would be willing to work 17 hours/day to do it. Unfortunately, I don't have that opportunity.

4 days a week here for the last 6 years. Our plant runs 24\7 due to the need for dialysis filters\equiptment. 2 shifts alternate 12 hour days sun - tues, 2 shifts alternate 12 hour days thurs - sat and all four put in 6 to 12 hours on wed.
It's a little rough when you start, but it's nice to have a 3 day weekend every week.

I work 6-7 days per week. I would love a 4/10 schedule because at my job I would end up working 5 days per week and end up getting 10 hrs OT instead of 8. It would allow me to save more money. The more OT I work, the faster I will get to retire (again-I retired from the USAF in 2004).
