You know what? fk it! It has to happen sooner or later. If we cant assasinate Irans leader then we got to do other means. For those of you out there who think we should handle this diplomatically....it isnt possible. This is a religious fanatic, radical islam at its finest. There is no bargaining...only elimination.

Now we got some patriot missle batteries in the region to slow down an onslaught of shahab missles. Iran is going to do something sooner or later thats a given. Whos it going to be? Israel should take out the plant and leave it be. If Iran wants to step up to the plate then guess what....we have a naval fleet in the gulf ready to rock, air bases spread throughout the middle east, and battalions of bad ass infantrymen and artillery batteries ready to bring the pain.

Im sick of this Iran mess...we just need to get it over with. War sucks and I hate it, in fact I still have 3 years left on the IRR so I can be called back in...I dont want to go but if called I sure as hell wont back down. I will even request to get back with my old infantry company...hell maybe even the same platoon if im lucky.

If its going to go down then lets get it on!

That report is exactly right. The attack on Iran MUST happen before the current administration leaves office. Israel can not take a chance on Barack Hussein Osama as president.

funny. it hasn't worked out so good under Bush...

as a matter of fact? the Iranians have benefited greatly from Bush's policies... and unless somebody attacks them? they will actually win this Iraq war.

Afghanistan is/has been getting worse and when we strike Iran? Iraq will get worse too...

whoever inherits this mess will have alotof work to do.

it's going to be worse than that.
gasoline will double again.

thing is? Iran pretty much has called the shots on this. IMO? Bush thought that if he invaded Iraq it would scare Iran. It doesn't seem to have worked does it? Regardless of whether you beleive they are building nuke weapons or not? they can't even refine their own gasoline. they trade oil for refined gasoline.
They export nat gas that they could be using to fuel electric power plants. they don't need nuke power for electricity.

they are suffering miserably form inflation too, something like 20% ...

There isn't going to be a war, there is going to be an attack to take out as much of Iran's nuclear facilities as possible. Iran can't fight the US in any meaningful way (other that what they are currently doing) and the overt consequences will be short-lived. Will oil spike in the short term? Yes. However, getting rid or Iran's nuclear threat will add stability to the world and may improve things in the mid-term.

Hersh reveals covert US ops in Iran
Sun, 29 Jun 2008 10:31:50

The New Yorker magazine says Washington has escalated covert operations against Iran in a bid to destabilize the country's leadership.

In a report published in the online version of The New Yorker magazine, investigative journalist Seymour Hersh has revealed that US Congressional leaders quietly agreed late last year to President Bush's funding request for a major escalation of covert operations against the Islamic Republic.

The article centers on a highly classified Presidential Finding which, by US law, must be made known to Senate leaders, the Democratic and Republican House and to ranking members of the intelligence committees.

“The Finding was focused on undermining Iran's nuclear ambitions and trying to undermine the government through regime change,” the article cited a person familiar with its contents as saying.

The finding also focused on working with the country's opposition groups and funneling money.

The article cites current and former military, intelligence and congressional sources as saying that $400 million was approved by congressional leaders for clandestine operations against Iran.

US Special Operations Forces have been conducting cross border operations from southern and southeastern Iraq since last year, the article said.

These have included seizing members of Iran's Qods force -- an arm of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps -- and taking them to Iraq for interrogation.

The operations also involved the pursuit, capture or killing of 'high-value targets' in the so-called war on terrorism, according to the article.

However, the article cited current and former officials as saying that the scale and scope of the covert operations inside Iran, including forces from the Central Intelligence Agency, have now been significantly expanded.

Many of these activities were not specified in the Presidential Finding and some congressional leaders have had serious questions about their nature, the article said.

According to former CIA officer, Robert Baer, the Jundullah terrorist group is among the outfits inside Iran benefiting from US support.

Jundullah, which operates in Iran's Sistan-Baluchistan province and Pakistan's Baluchistan province, has carried out a number of attacks against Iranian civilians as well as high-profile government and security officials.

Neither the Democratic leaders in Congress nor the White house and the CIA would comment on the finding, the article said.
