Racist Lott Elected By Cronies As Whip
November 15th, 2006

Washington, D.C. - Senator Trent Lott, ousted in 2002 because of racist remarks, won election for the minority GOP's No2. post in the next Congress.

Senator Lott returned to power by getting the position of vote-counting GOP whip. Senator Rick Santorum told reporters that Lott beat Alexander by a 25-24 vote.

Mitch McConnell of Kentucky was elected to be Senate Republican leader as his party prepares to turn over control of Congress to Democrats in January.

McConnell, unopposed, was elected unanimously during a meeting of the Senate Republican Caucus. He is now the Senate Republican whip.

McConnell's election as leader, as well as the outcomes of races for other Senate Republican leadership posts, will be announced later in the day.

I feel Lott is a racist to. And will only do harm in this country by causing bigger divisions amongstus as Americans
