a. Genesis 5:5- "So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died."
How old was Adam when he was kicked out of Eden?
b. We do not know how long Adam lived in Garden of Eden. It would simply be a matter of speculation.
How old was Adam when he had Seth?
Genesis 5:3 (NKJV)
3 And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.

Alright...you've proved you know the bible better than I.
Still...the young earth theory is based off of belief that god created in a literal 7 days. It is based off of the belief that the 930 years Adam lived were both the time when he was in the garden and outside. (What if time did not exist during the time of paradise?) And it is still a theory of man. I'll leave it there as I can't and won't fight the bible but I'd still urge caution in such a belief. It HAS been misused and will continue to be in the future I am sure.

And if you can't accept the contradiction, you are simply too biased and closed minded to pay attention.......or to pittifully poor in the use of the Enfglish language to understand that the truth of each of those two staatements contradicts the other.
Now don't give me any nonsense about that being the word of God, cause when the bible was written, the English language didn't exists and God, supposedly, doesn't make mistakes.

That's the age when he had his son, you only read half the verse...

So there is no contradiction there, bdgee
And about different languages...God explains in Genesis 11 that the world used to have one language, but that changed after the Flood.
Genesis 11 (NKJV)
The Tower of Babel
1 Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. 3 Then they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. 4 And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” 5 But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. 6 And the LORD said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. 7 Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” 8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. 9 Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of all the earth; and from there the LORD scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was[1] on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day. 6 Then God said, “Let there be a firmament[2] in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” 7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day. 9 Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good. 11 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 So the evening and the morning were the third day. 14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. 17 God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 So the evening and the morning were the fourth day. 20 Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” 21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” 23 So the evening and the morning were the fifth day. 24 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 29 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Before the flood, the world and the ecosystem was different. It had never rained before the flood. And there were two waters, including a body of water above the atmosphere.
6 Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” 7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.
This is where the water came from for the flood.
Gen 7:11
11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
That kind of pressure can create fossils instantly. It doen't have to take millions of years to creat fossils.
The world was perfect when god created it. Fossils show much more vegatation before flood. The oxygen content was much higher. The Bible makes it clear that even Man was bigger. There were Giants in those days.
AMORITES » Were giants (Amos 2:9) ANAK » Father of three giants (Joshua 15:13,14;21:11) ANAKIM » A race of giants (Numbers 13:28-33; Deuteronomy 1:28;2:10;9:2) ANTEDILUVIANS » Giants among ANTEDILUVIANS » See GIANTS EMIMS » A race of giants (Genesis 14:5; Deuteronomy 2:10,11) GATH » Anakim, a race of giants, inhabitants of (Joshua 11:22) SABEANS » Giants among (Isaiah 45:14) ZAMZUMMIMS » A race of giants (Genesis 14:5; Deuteronomy 2:20,21) ASHTAROTH » The capital city of Bashan » Giants lived at (Joshua 12:4)
The word "Dinosaur" is obviously a new word not found in the BIBLE specificly. In Isaiah 27, it mentions a reptile in the sea.
Isaiah 27 1 In that day the LORD with His severe sword, great and strong, Will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan that twisted serpent; And He will slay the reptile that is in the sea.
Leviathan is mentioned 6 different times in the bible, as the monster of the sea. Leviathan Could be a Dinosaur, who knows. You can go to any EVOLUTION AND CREATION debate site and see all of the arguments. Dinosaurs are not a major topic in the Bible, and I trust GOD knows what he's doing.
The Bottom line is that you either believe what god says or you don't. All the prophecies that came true is reason enough to just trust in GOD and the BIBLE. And also the fact that GOD said you can trust the bible. Here are some versus...
2 Peter 1:20
20Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. 21For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
2 Timothy 3:16, 17
16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Amos 3:7
7 Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.
Not everything God wants us to know is in the bible. Jesus said he will send us the HOLY SPIRIT.
John 16:12, 15
12"I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. 15All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.
If someone doubts Creation, or GOD as the CREATOR, just ask them the statistical odds of this
The Sun is 400 times farther away from the Earth than the Moon and the Sun is 400 times larger than the Moon. To say this is a "cosmic coincidence", is like seeing a sand castle and saying the tide did it.
There's an interesting passage in Isaiah 66 about what it will be like in the the heaven and earth.
17 “ For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth;
Isaiah 66:23-24
23 And it shall come to pass That from one New Moon to another, And from one Sabbath to another, All flesh shall come to worship before Me,” says the LORD
First of all, there's no question that God is saying that from one week to another, and one month to another, we will all come and worship before the Lord. The Jewish weeks were divided by the Sabbath. Their months were divided by the New Moons. Now one theory is that the seasons of the world were altered by the flood. I think our earth went through a catastrophic upheaval during the flood, and the earth did not cycle through the seasons we have each year now. I think the earth tilted on its axis, which is what gives us our seasons. It may be that the month in the new earth will have exactly 28 days, and if that's the case, it means that every new moon will also be a Sabbath. However, God is not telling us anywhere in the Ten Commandments that we need to keep the New Moons. The New Moons were separate from the Sabbath commandment in the Bible. That's also more proof that that sabbath is still supposed to be observed by christians because we will in the new earth, too. but that's another topic.
Matthew 5:17-20
17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
Every thing in the bible is perfect and profecies are fullfilled.

"...you only read half the verse..."
I read the full statement. Nothing therein limits it from outside and the English language doesn't allow such outside limits without notification within.
It becomes clear that you are one of those who wants to reconstrue the Second amendment of the Constitution,
"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
so as to violate structure of the English language and alter the statement of the second amendment to be that
It is the right of the Government to retrict the keeping and bearing of arms by the people to only those the Government specifies as being officially in the National Guard and, even for those chosen, the Government will have the right to restrict exactly what arms the chosen may have and under what circomstances they may be kept and born.
The language is specific! it says and offers NO exceptions:
...the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
There is no proper place in this too crowded world for any system of belief that bases itself on prejudice, particularly when that prejudice it is one that denies to others the right to their beliefs and denies the need for humankinds to eliminate further proliferation in order to have much hope for future existance. There are too many of us and our differing beliefs must be able to rub shoulder-to-shoulder if we are to live harmonously, a need that increases exponentially with linear increase in population..
"So there is no contradiction there, bdgee" is just so much bulls-hit. It says bluntly that Adam lived 930 years and that Adam lived 130 years. That is a blunt and direct contradiction!
As to the absurd notion that at some time there was only one language, that is ignorant superstition at best.....or perhaps the same sort of vulgar prejudice that leads any people into declaring that only their variety of culture is "cultured" or "civilized" and "right". When all oters are wrong, we doom the human race to war!
I have no objection to you believing as you do and if left at that point I will offer no objection, but I do seriously object to you abusing reality to foster absurdity in place of fact. You may tell me you believe in that stuff, but please have the respect of one person for another to learn to not declare your belief to be fact and any other to be false.
Note carefully it is possible to be quite thouroughly religious without believing that the bible is in any way factual or the "word of God". Indeed, it is possible to believe in the same god you do and even to be christian without believing as you do or believing the bible is even close to factual.
And try to show some respect for those that don't follow your personally chosen brand of religion and superstition. Indeed, have the common courtesy stop declaring they MUST believe as you do.
Try remembering that, though it may be truth and of fundamental importance, to you, it is religion and is simply belief and superstition and not fact and shouldn't be imposed on others in this Country, at least. (If you can't accept that fact, maybe life in some Nation that does not guarantee my religious freedom is for you?)
I do consider your matter-of-fact assumption of "correctness" in what you believe to be simultaneously an intended and too often stated matter-of-fact declaration that my belief, unless it coincides with yours, isn't worthy of consideration. Such profound declaration on your part is therefore, highly insuting. Putting it simply, it constitutes an intended bias on your part that I find insulting and grossly egomaniacal.
Now, allow me to express my appology for being blunt, but it too often seems those of your ilk aren't able to consider anything less direct. I hope you can, in the future, remember yours is a religion and your right to believe it coincides with the right of others not to be subjected to it endlessly. It is a belief, NOT a law.

andrew, you too could benifit by learning not to press your personal beliefs as if anyone not tied by them is wrong. You are speaking of personal choices, which are not facts, just biases.
Please try being a little less insistant that you and only those that believe like you are right, which amounts to being derogatory about anything that isn't your belief. We do have rights in this country.

Again you are only posting half of the verse to make it look like a contradiction. The first age is when he had the son, and second is when he died.
They're even in chronological order.

Genesis 5:5- "So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years"
And I don't think I'm the one that is "simply too biased and closed minded to pay attention"

Let me try.
Homer, an ancient duck hunting guide on the White River in Arkansas taught me one I have had success with.
Find some old fashioned "Simonize" wax or it's equivalent (none of this new fangled miracle stuff will do the job), the kind that is hell to rub out to a polish, you know, the real wax. Put a heavy coat of that on and around the scratch, rub it in, and let it set over night. Then, polish the dickens out of it the next day. Surprisingly, it will last for months.
