The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has begun a well initiative that is due to be completed in mid-summer 2006. At its completion, the initiative will create 49 wells to service 37 Northern Iraqi communities. http://www.grd.usace.army.mil/news/releases/recon062706.html
MANDALI, Iraq, June 1, 2006 — Iraqi girls jumped to their feet and chanted a welcome greeting to Iraqi army soldiers as they arrived with boxes of school supplies donated by a non-profit organization from Westchester County, N.Y. http://www.defendamerica.mil/articles/june2006/a060106ms1.html
Don't tell me there is no progress being made. It does injustice to everyone who has died because of the war. Tell the people of Iraq who live without fear of secret police because they expressed freedom of thought and speech that there is no progress being made.
Just because CNN and fox news dont report the good stuff, doesnt mean its not happening. Maybe you and everyone else around the country really need to exercise your own freedom of thought and stop only believing what is said on TV.

i am not about to say the troops have screwed up either..
BUT?
i'm also not into hearing how great a job the politicians have done... they haven't..
i am a fan of the Collin Powell method... hit 'em hard, hit 'em fast... don't give 'em a chance...
and somebody gave them a chance... the terrorists i mean... i know that the news crews cover all the bad, and i know some progress has been made... but? we are there for five more years at least right?
and? i still don't see how we are gonna turn over BORDER defense to them so we can leave... Iran is still sitting on the other side ain't they?

Those are only a few articles dont be an idiot.
And the school supplies were probably purchased with US dollars and given to the Iraqis to hand out to the kids so they build credibility.
The middle east isnt like america or europe. They dont have access to many medicines, definately no access to advanced medical care, unless you are in the top 1% in the social class. The conditions the kids go to school in are horribles. In 2004 only 54% of the population had access to drinking water.
That $297 bil is going to build the infrastructure of the country. If you werent so narrow minded and spoiled you would realize the rest of the world isnt constructed the same as america and whatever suburbia you live in.

And you had to search for a paltry three?

Do you really expect me to post thousands of articles. For god's sake try doing a ****ing google search. Took me all of about 3 seconds to find those articles.
I love how you bleeding heart left wing idiots like to use sarcasm and wit to try and spin around what your opposition says. Thats it...I'll just make fun of what the other guy says, then people wont take it seriously.

Let's just face it. For $297,000,000,000 there has been little real progress. Especially if you don't count the rebuilding of infrastructure that "The Coalition of the Willing" destroyed in the first place.
Meanwhile, the world now hates us even more, we are even less safe than we were on 9/11, terrorism has increased, our ports are left unchecked, our borders are a joke, our emergency response capability at home is virtually non existent, etc. etc. etc...
$297,000,000,000 and counting. Good news for Bechtell, Halliburton and their ilk. Really bad news for America.

I'm enlisted, in the Army, in Iraq. I didn't want to come let alone go back voluntarily. But there are some in my unit who volunteered to come back. A couple for the money and a couple of super-patriots. I'd go further in depth but they moniter everything I say you know.
