In a speech delivered in May in the former Soviet republic of Lithuania, Mr Cheney had accused Russia of cracking down on religious and political rights, and of using its energy reserves as "tools of intimidation or blackmail"/
Mr Putin rejected the criticism. "I think the statements of your Vice-President of this sort are the same as an unsuccessful hunting shot," he said, in an interview with a US television news channel, whose transcript was published today. "It’s pretty much the same." http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,3-2266739,00.html

Id hate to say it but.... Russia is the key. If we could build a stronger relationship with them there would be no need for bilateral or unilateral talks. Every other country would just know better.
but this will never happen. especially since russia made a point of conducting military excercises with china which i think was a direct snub to US

Why get tough with Russia? They should be our closest ally. Another country, filled with Christian white people, that has a ton of resources, and fighting off the Muslim hoarde as well. After Britain, they should be our closest allies. Teach the "others" of this world who really inherits the Earth. Go Russia!

For everyone else, forget skin color. This is WWIII, and its about cultures. Western Civilization / Advanced Civilization vs. the Barbarians. Russia would be a great ally to fight off the barbarian hordes.

Oh, I think we'll lose too in the end.. because we're weak now. It's really the beginning of the end... read how the Roman Empire collapsed - corruption, over extending its army, and the civilian population becoming complacent.

Sounds like a pretty good arrangement for the Canadian people. As a matter of fact, if there wasn't so much red tape involved with leaving the USA, I'd probably be there right now.

I've been to Vancouver and Montreal. Fantastic cities both, but especially Vancouver. Plus clean air, near-free medical care, no illegal wiretaps, and similar cutting edge technology.
It's only too bad that so many people want to leave the US that's it's now near impossible to do so.

And taxes so high you barely have enough left for $14 sixpacks of Bud and $10 packs of Export A's.

Gordy, I'm quite certain a man of your obvious mental talents should be able to move to Canada in a moment's notice. Red tape can't possibly impede your urgency.

Canadian taxes actually go toward helping its own citizens. I'd sleep a lot better knowing I wasn't paying to occupy sovereign nations and blow up children.

I spent a year in Bella Coola, BC. Lots of Ex-American hippies who had run from the Vietnam War there. They were still laying low, this was in 1987. They seemed happy...

Ah, but it does impede my urgency. Have you tried it? It's damn near impossible ever since Bush took office and tens of thousands of us got the same idea.
