I DON'T GET IT.....

Why do "modern day hippies" love Trader Joe's so much? Is it because EVERYTHING you now consume into the body NEEDS to be "organic"???

DWE,

What are you doing at Trader Joes's? I always get Trader Joe's and Trader Vic's in Seattle mixed up. Trader Vic's is where they use to serve those Hugh Polynesian drinks for three people and when you got done with those drinks it did not matter where you were.

I don't know what I do at Trader Joe's. I have one around the block from me and it's closer to me than Von's Supermarkets is so at times, I pop in there for a half gallon of milk for my kid but ALL their milk products are "organic"! I mean, what is the big deal with this "organic" crap and why do modern day liberals love this garbage??? George Washington never had an "organic" supermarket to shop at and he lived til he was pretty old. Is this stuff suppose to be so much better for the human body???

I wish i spent a little more time eating better these days. It is to easy and fast to eat all that junk food, i would probably de-tox if i did not have some. Not having all those chemicals that are absorb into the food we eat is a good thing(organic) the problem is some of those so called organic products are not completely organic. Trader Joe's actually has some good prices on wine if you drink it, i don't (my wife does a little) and i like some of there specialty chips.

Speaking of ribs, If you're ever in Oneonta, NY stop by Brooks BBQ. Now, they have some good ribs. The Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse has some decent ribs too, but I prefer Brooks'

There are different degrees of organic, in some cases its a BS label.

You dont have to shop at Trader Joes to eat healthy, thats ludicrous (for those that seem to imply it). I want to know who here is eating plain oatmeal, chicken breast, brown rice and broccoli all day long PLUS supplementing extra fiber intake, Omega 3s, phytonutrients, and all the herbals I take for my prostate and so on.

Just because it says organic or you payed out the rear end for it, doesn't make it healthier than what you could have bought somewhere else.

Not straight from the cow, but homoginization and pasturization somewhat destroy what qualities there are of milk. There is plenty of information on lactose intollerancy, the amount of puss and blood you drink, and all the other fun stuff related to milk if you'd like to read up on it.

I do have a touch of milk from time to time, and I grew up on the stuff to the tune of at least a half a gallon a day every day (until my early 20s). But really it doesn't belong in the human diet other than a sparing sin.

I'm no PETA freak, but I am in the fitness world somewhat heavily.
