Smoke was comin' from out of the back When I started to gain on that Cadillac Knew I could catch him, I thought I could pass Don't you know by then we'd be low on gas
We had flames comin' from out of the side Feel the tension, man, what a ride! I said, "Look out, boys, I've got a license to fly" And that Caddy pulled over and let us by

Jimi Hendrix (I was 15--stood in the chair the whole night...didn't take a date, on purpose)
Sly & the Family Stone (saw them 3 times--GREAT DATE concert, lol, a true phantasmagora of sight and sound...)
The Texas Aggie Marching Band (had a pal who liked to do psylocibin and climb to the top of the stadium and watch them...after halftime? he'd leave...went on to be a county judge, lol)
Rolling Stones, Halloween, Dallas 1981--PARTAY!...first tune was "Under My Thumb" ...and the girl next to me was dressed as Snoopy; held her "paws" up all night...watched some Qualudde idiot fall UP the staircase...watta show...Thunderbirds opened, then ZZ Top...then Mick & da Boyz...
speaking of, a must-see is the one about the engineer at Atlantic...I'll look it up...gawd, what a deal...if you like that wide a variety, you'd flip over this DVD, no kidding
quote:Tom Dowd`s credits include recording sessions with Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, Otis Redding, John Coltrane, The Allman Brothers Band, Tito Puente, Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonious Monk, Cream, Rod Stewart, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Booker T. & the MG`s
got this offa google search...easy to find.
way interesting, for "behind-the-scenes" type stuff...for instance, George Martin's "primitive" set-up for the Beatles, compared to what Dowd had *invented* for himself to use at Atlantic...

the rock band I managed broke that baby out at a big ol huge festival in El Paso: the crowd got *bigger* while parents with kids fled on the "the juice" line...As a parent, I had mixed emotions, lol
