Nearly all the looters - probably over 99% - are black. No surprise since blacks are 8 times more likely to commit criminal acts than whites, on a per capita basis. This is fact.
Some people, like most liberals, say that reciting facts that are disparaging of blacks is racist - that we should suppress such truths.
Anarchy exists in N.O. - police can't do anything about looting. Police have in fact been shot by black looters who stole guns and are using them to not only rob and kill, but rape. This is fact. Am I a racist for telling you these facts. Liberals say yes.
Steiner says shoot the looters.
4Art and lilpennypincher say no - let the looters loot all they want. And kill, and rape. They are black - the beloved adopted pets of some liberal mebers of white society, like 4Art and lilpennypincher.

The truth is that Bush did not fail the people of N.O. in any way - the local and state government did - big time. They did not protect the citizens, before ot after the hurricane.

Yep, that's true, somewhat. It's the poor, mostly blacks in New orleans that couldn't get out before the hurricane that are left there to starve. Try going without food water a few days yourself, it might larn ye somethin. Try watching kids go hungry and see how civil you can be.

This is a bad situation for many elderly and sick and I feel for them. But many able bodied people decided to "ride it out". Every major hurricane there are always a bunch of people who despite repeated warnings to leave decide to stay. They were even told there would be likely flooding. They had 48 hours to find a way out. Many couldve walked a significant distance away from the coast in 48 hours and after being interviewed they said they just wanted to stay. If someone told me my whole city was going to be demolished you wouldnt have to tell me twice to leave. If I was so dumb as to stay I would buy food and water before the storm. At least water if not food. It gets me mad when I see parents on tv who were perfectly able to leave but choose to stay and let there kids hunger and thirst and then have there kids go looting with them. I would never let my kids stay in an area that was about to be destroyed.

Art, you're a liar. I said nothing of the kind. I merely pointed out that looting for food, water and dry clothing is perfectly acceptable. I'd do it myself, and would prefer to not be shot at by the same idiots who couldn't find a way to rescue me for five days.

These looters are looting because they're thugs and they have the opportunity. What good are tv sets, dc players and athletic footwear got to do with being hungry. These are thugs that need to be shot on site but we are reluctant due to the racial sensitivity. Besides, it is not necessary to be stealing food because the relief agencies are feeding people.

What happened in NO is a natural tragedy. I agree, the state and local govt failed the people. However, it has been a known fact that NO as at risk. The folks living there took that risk. For the most part, it is cited whites got out because they had the means. Most blacks didnt. No ne had enuff for a bus ticket? your life is your responisbility. What others do to help s/b appreciated. I for one would off got out. and, if i stayed I would of been prepared.
The blaacks are ault for their refusal/inability to leave. Tehy are responsible for their fate.
How many will bust their butt to rebuild?? Or will they cry so you and I will pay for thier livelihood?
It is a national black america disgrace how the blacks have respondd to this tragedy. Again, they point the fingers, not realizind 3 are pointeting back at them. Yes, this was a natural disaster so do what you can to survive.
The blacks emanded, looted, so angry. So sad for amrica that the black americans showed the world how ugly balck america is. It harmed all us. I want to disassociate. I do not respect those that are so angry and demand help and condemn not appropriate.
I think we should help, but when i saw the looting, anger and hate, I thought it was a national disgrace.
The NO is a tragedy but so was the tsunami. 100,000s died and suffered but the majority were gracious for the help. I also did not see the anger and looting at the scale of NO.
As a side note, asians in americas have the highest standard of living as a group while the blacks the lowest. The asians for the most part do not beg or want freebies. They work, some 18 + hours. What they have they earn and contribute. Even in MS, he vietnamese were not aas angry in demanding help. Just sad and graciuos.
When will these people stop crying and working and taking responsibility for their lives?

these people are armed and are in gangs. If a group of (10-15) thugs were attacking you, armed or not, would you not still defend yourself if you had a gun.

BAGHDAD, Iraq -- Members of the Louisiana National Guard's 141st Field Artillery are on duty in Baghdad, far from family and friends suffering through Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath.
Lt. Col. Jordan Jones said he and his fellow soldiers have been following the events on television and trying desperately to get in touch with loved ones back home. Jones said some of the troops "have seen their neighborhoods completely submerged in water."
He added that it's doubly hard since members of the Guard see it as their duty to serve during times of natural disaster.
A spokeswoman for the unit said some of the soldiers are "having a hard time" handling the helplessness of the situation.
The unit is scheduled to return soon to Louisiana.

Art: So, are you saying we should shoot the looters, as Sgt. Steiner said, and as you denounced? You thus denounce your own opinion. Or, are you saying looters should be left alone, as I said was your opinion, and for which you now call me a liar?. Which is it?
Perhaps you have no opinion and like most people posting here are only capable of demonizing Bush and conservatives - capable only of disagreement and negative thinking.
And yes, it is not only most liberal whites that support the black parasites who take more from this nation than they give. Many blacks also support black parasites - look at those who acquitted OJ and those who glorify black gangsters. You could be either white or black and support black criminals and other parasites.

no looters? i seen 'em... all fifty or so (that they showed on camera) i seen looting in a lot of places before this too...
Baghdad was worse....
anyway... the Guard is there now...
seems the looting may not have been as bad as they were reporting...
i have no doubt some shots were fired...
let's see? i do seem to remeber a post circulating around about how many people get MURDERED in Detroit everyday being about the same as in Iraq.... cough cough...how many people have been shot in New Orleans???? ONE????
