Purl Gurl. Speaking of misplaced priorities, this article says it all.
...There is an economic ripple effect, too. The cuts mean major hurricane and flood protection projects will not be awarded to local engineering firms. Also, a study to determine ways to protect the region from a Category 5 hurricane has been shelved for now.

Sister Mary, who worked for a home health agency, was out making her rounds visiting homebound patients when she ran out of gas. As luck would have it a gas station was just a block away. She walked to the station to borrow a gas can and buy some gas.
The attendant told her the only gas can he owned had been loaned out but she could wait until it was returned Since the nun was on the way to see a patient, she decided not to wait and walked back to her car. She looked for something in her car that she could fill with gas and spotted the bedpan she was taking to the patient. Always resourceful she carried the bedpan to the station, filled it with gas, and carried the full bedpan back to her car.
As she was pouring the gas into her tank two men watched from across the street. One of them turned to the other and said, "If it starts, I'm turning Catholic"

do you guys remember that show on a month or so ago called "oil storm"? for those who didnt see it, it was a documentary in the past tense about future events. if that makes sense. but the first stage of the oil storm was a hurricane destroying the gulf oil platforms and oil prices surging then gas prices getting out of control, then a terrorist attack in saudi arabia shuts down supply from over there. So we're pretty much cut off. Then truckers and farmers stop working because gas prices are out of control, so food is getting scarce, riots breaking out at gas stations etc. it was a pretty good little program.

just remember peeps markets change for economic, social,or political reasons right now the oil companies are allowed to run but these levels cannot afford to be sustained for a long period of time. every other secector in our economy is in a sense paying the price for gas. politicaly that can not go on for long the oil companies might work there way into a regulated industry like a public utilities are now and this won't be done by liberals imho it will be done by the other captians of capitalism who are footing the bill with markets that are becoming smaller every day as it just takes more to perate a vehicle. and larger percentages of disposable incomes are be spent at the gas pump

You know what's funny. Taxes are so high here in Washington state the I am hearing of trucking companies ordering their drivers to fuel up in Oregon, Idaho, and even CANADA, before they enter the state. People who live on the borders don't even shop here. They go to Oregon or Idaho. Me, I smuggle in my bad stuff that I like from out of state. getting ready to add a second tank to my F-250 and run off-road diesel in it.

i wonder how the religious right feel now i wonder after six years of bush they are still blaming clinton after all it is his fault for blancing a budget and letting the republicans know about it so they could cut taxes before the job was done and ruin our econmy. by the way you kolaid drinkers of roves cult tell me about any anti gay marrige bill that was passed or new abortion law that was either now that you have full control of the political scene.you people just have to admit that you were lied to on a grand scale and were told what you wanted to here so that the rest of us could pay for it for generations to come and we could loose a hunderd years of humane law in eight years i am glad that you are in this world with me so you can see the work of this fraud unfold in front of your eyes.

actually about the same price as regular diesel and I gotta drive up to Seattle to get it. I just like the notion of not paying the new Gregoire gas tax. But it's gonna get voted out in the fall anyway.

"Go start a Bush bashing thread so that those of us that are tired of the off topic comments..."
Ramius, poll results released over the past few days indicate close to half of Americans believe George Bush is at fault for high gasoline prices.
What is off-topic is your mind. Your are clearly uninformed on the root causes of our energy crisis. George Bush is our "leader" and is leading us down a road to our ruination, but not his; he and coherts are making big bucks off oil interests.
Are you keeping with Barbara Boxer's recent call for select actions to help place a cap on oil prices? Bush ignored her. Bush will not listen to others because Cheney has his hand up Bush's rear, being the puppet Bush is; Cheney does all the talking for Bush.
Haliburton runs our country via Cheney.
Keep up with news and your mind will be less off-topic in nature.
