The beef industry may get another big hit, if this is true.

in Nebraska, they recomended sending the head into the state for evaluation...takes two weeks or so...in the meantime, you dress it and freezer it, and then what? throw it out if it's bad? not worth it....
it is real bad in Colorado and Wyoming

They say it isn't in the meat, but in the brain, and the intestines, which are casings they use for sausage! I wouldn't get too alarmed; they said it can be in your body for 30 years, before you get it! That is the most alarming thing! Why worry now? Just be careful!

It was in a dairy cow! A Holstein! The black and white kind, you milk, not the kind butchered for meat!

Ok, ok MAD COW is not really a disease.

it's really a condition.....

it's caused by a rogue protein called a prion...

the rogue protein causes YOUR own proteins to fold improperly.....
so it's not even ALIVE....

the WIERD part is that it's aquired by eating the rogue protein and your stomach is SUPPOSED to digest the protien which should destroy it....

one of the reasons cannibalism is so taboo is that it causes a conditon called KURU that's the human to human version of mad cow....

basically you havce to eat brain parts or spinal cord parts to acquire the prion....

the problem is that when they are slicing the cow up with a bandsaw, the (yuck) "sawdust" from the spinal cord can get all over the prime rib and into the hamburger....

so much for beef...i'm gonna get 100 turkeys and put them in the freezer...LOL

Hannibal Lector didn't think so, and if eating brains causes the problem, I guess that's why he was nuts enough to continue doing it!
