Suggested to my wife that we create a drive to create a law that would say. " No new taxes without approval from the people to pay."

She said "Augh you can't do that there would be no new taxes passed."

Good idea Bob. This would keep government in check. Another good idea would make them pay into and retire on Social Security like the rest of us instead of the full salary pension that they get now and don't pay one cent for.

Bob, my dad was part of group of lawyers(none of them were tort specialists..LOL) that wrote a new charter for the county we lived in.....they pushed it thru on a popular vote...
it limited taxes....
the county was crippled badly by it for years...they had good intentions....

in So Cali, they had something similar....the net effect is/was that if you build a new house there? they have a HUGE premium to pay the local school district..

Hell, I'd settle for:

1) No double taxation such as they currently do on Soc.Sec. when I have already paid those taxes.

2) No taxing (School Taxes) people who have no children and seniors 65 and older.

The above people get socked every which way and back!
