Sidenote on the election in Spain... I am having trouble finding an article to link to that discusses this, but when it first happened I read that there was a background to the election that most news agencies ignored....The government was insisting right up until the election that al-qaeda was responsible for the bombing...Apparently the evidence said otherwise and pointed to a different terrorist group that has harrassed Spain for awhile and is quite different from al-qaeda and has different signature styles, etc. The population was aware of the contradiction and polls showed that a huge majority felt the government was lying to make people support the war in Iraq. There were many other issues involved (Morocco for example) but getting caught lying to voters days before elections never helps. Sorry I have no link but this is the gist of an article I read in an article by Paul Wells.
And on another sidenote, while some European gov'ts are in the "Coalition of the Willing", popular opinion in most of Europe (and the rest of the world) is against it. http://people-press.org/reports/display.php3?ReportID=206 http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/2994924.stm
