How about a forum right up top on the BB for newbies, with a nice introduction, general cautionary statement, and encouraging links back to edu stuff. Many here are willing to help, for which I personally am grateful, but then we duplicate effort repeatedly to steer well intentioned nubes who want "a good $xxxxxxer from $xxx" *investment* (B, don't even go there with GLUV, lol)
