Wellstone Filters appears to have developed a tobacco filtering compound that effectively removes cancer-causing carcinogens and tar while allowing nicotine (the chemical responsible for the "feel good" effect) to pass through. Wellstone is in the early marketing phases now and they are gearing up for the production of their own brands of "safer" cigarettes. Wellstone maintains that no cigarette is safe, but they believe their product is the best option for those that feel that they cannot quit smoking.
