CLEARWATER, Fla., May 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CRYO-CELL International, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: CCEL) (the Company) and CRYO-CELL de Mexico jointly announced today that CRYO-CELL de Mexico, the Company's licensed affiliate, has recently provided cord blood hematopoietic stem cells for use in a successful transplant procedure. The stem cells were used in the treatment of blackfan diamond anemia, a severe type of genetic anemia. The transplant was performed on a seven-year-old from El Salvador utilizing cord blood stem cells and marrow from a younger sibling. The child's parents had collected and banked the sibling's cord blood at birth; the initial processing and storage of the cells was performed at CRYO-CELL de Mexico in Guadalajara. The transplant procedure was performed on March 3, 2004 by Michael Trigg, MD, Chief, Division of Blood & Bone Marrow Transplantation at the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE. The patient continues to be seen in clinic, and is progressing nicely. Dr. Trigg is a world-renowned pediatric transplant surgeon who treats many international patients. Dr. Trigg also chairs CRYO-CELL's Medical & Scientific Advisory Board. Cord blood stem cells have become increasingly used in clinical therapy for the treatment of leukemia, lymphoma, severe anemias and other diseases over the past five years. The first use of cord blood for treatment of anemia was in 1988; the use of cord blood for the treatment of hematological malignancies was pioneered in the early nineties. Elias Bemaras, CEO of CRYO-CELL de Mexico, and Mercedes Walton, CRYO-CELL Chairman and interim CEO, agree: "We have a strong sense of fulfillment of our corporate mission each time that stem cells banked with CRYO-CELL International by our clients are used for successful medical treatments. Based upon the information we have received, we are very encouraged with both the excellent progress of the recipient and the prognosis." The Company believes that, as it announces further applications and clinical uses of CRYO-CELL processed and preserved stem cells, this information can be used to assist both expectant parents and the medical community in determining the merits of preserving stem cells and their life-saving applications. Yes, this does look good! HQNT got killed today - still, bought 2000 more shares since the fundamentals look great! Think it's a real buy now. When they release their earnings report (on or before 6/24) I think it will give a loud bark. LOL Hope I did not offend you by referring to your post on the CMKX thread. Maybe I did misunderstand your reference to receipt of the certificates. If so, sorry. PS If you give me some way to contact you by email, I do not mind telling you what my WS experience has been. Dog, Ran across your old post re the split/spin off shs. No question, if the x date was the date you specified and you sold the shares after that date, your own the new shares. Whoever bought them after the x date bought them without (that's what x means) the dividend.
