I currently have brokerage accounts with scottrade and lowtrade, not satisfied with either. Can someone help me decide among the following - and thinking about switching to choicetrading or abwatley:
I would like to compare/disccuss the following discount brokers in regards, to pricing, execution, trading platforms, cutomer service:
lowtrades.com $ 5.00 platform - no level 2, cumbersome trading platform - very limited research, unreliable, slow ticker.
thanks for input! _____________________________________________

Hi, Another newbie here. I am interested in hearing any comments too.
I have another question: if you choose an individual cash account and you later slip on a banana and die, who gets your account? Will your "will" be enough for your family to get your stock account or will they have trouble getting it if you don't have a joint account with survivor benefits?

Easy answer: Choicetrade.com ... any questions you can find on their website or call their customer service people.. they are very helpful and friendly..

Them darn bananas. They get ya everytime.
You might be able to ask your broker... maybe they'll let you appoint a beneficiary. Also, I guess you could trade under a LLC or INC if you have one. Then, technically, your "company" (and whoever owns it) owns the stock. That's my guess... but I'd be interested in the experts' thoughts on this.

I have ameritrade and choicetrade. I like ameritrade a lot. It has an exellent website but you do pay for it with the higher commissions. Choicetrade is much more basic. You may need to get real time quotes with quotracker or someplace else with choicetrade. I think its only 20 a month and if you trade a lot its free. I had my ameritrade longer than choicetrade and can say that there execution has been good for me. Hard to say which is better though because I did mostly big board stocks with ameritrade which would probably have a faster execution then the pennies ive done with choictrade. Ive mostly been picking runners latley with choicetrade so sometimes by the time I type in the limit price they already go past it so I couldnt fairly compare the two since ive used two different trading styles. If you have a lot of money and the commission fees wouldnt effect your profits I personally would get ameritrade just because of how easy everything is. You can automatically wire money into your ameritrade account when you log in. If you have a bank setup all you do is type the amount and thats it.

Mach, thanks for the advice. I called choicetrade and they said the account would go to the beneficiaries of the will. I decided to go with choicetrade.
Treemoney, did you know that Ameritrade and TD Waterhouse are joining? I also have TD.
I bought $108 dollars worth of TNOG through TD. They charged me $108 + $60 because it was more than 2500 shares. Luckily I was still on my free month so they credited it back to me. They said if I called the TD customer service they would discount the penneystock and only charge me $33. I decided to transfer the stock to choicetrade instead.
Thanks for the advice.
What is the "Instant Graemlins" next to the reply box? They don't have any bananas do they?

YW.. .. also in case you didn't know you can put stop/losses on penny stocks (yes all pennystocks including micro penny stocks)via choicetrade.. something I don't think other brokerages offer..

I am transferring all funds into ChoiceTrade. Seems to have the nicest trading platform (stop loss orders), the best/cheapest links to data providers etc.etc...
Scottrade was ok - just got tired of the higher commissions $ 7.00 + 1/2 %, no stop loss orders...etc....
Lowtrades' ticker is completely unreliable...be careful if you depend on it..
