I have an older freind of mine, with some old stock certificates in it. Turns out they were his mothers. I would think some are defunct, but others might be of value.

What would be a good way in researching past splits, name changes, etc. Basicaly the history the stock. And real vaule(if any) of the stock today.

400 Shares of Liverpool Buick Co.
Inc in Ohio, issued Sept 19, 1921

50 shares of preffered stock
50 shares of common stock for Warren Buick Co.
Inc in Ohio, issued Sept 15, 1920

260 shares of common stock
17 shares of preffered stock of
McLaughlin-Young Coal Co.
Inc in Linton In. issued Dec 8, 1920

Any help or sites to look up info, would be of great help! the site Machiavelli, posted. is a pay site, and my freind doesnt have the $$ too.

it's a paysite but it's the ultimate in stock research for old stocks (ive heard of them for years even before the internet came around for regular folks like us)... plus it's only $75 fee for each stock you want researched.. that to me is a reasonable fee especially if you hit paydirt and they are worth thousands.. the $75 is a drop in the bucket...

Thanks! Worse case senerio, the certificates should be worth something to a collector. Either way going to find out after Vegas.

You can just go to www.stockta.com for homepage.

Goodluck.
