posted December 17, 2004 18:02 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- hey i just got another monitor so i can speed up my chit a bit. my question is how do i hook it up? what do i need? i was told by people at best buy that i need to hook up a network or both monitors will just show the same things on the screen i don't think that is correct?? someone else told me that all i need is a new video card?? HELP ME PLEASE!! thanks in advance

you need a video card that has dual monitor outputs. then instead of having say 1024x768 resolution, you set it for 2048x748 and have the desktop span both screens.

make sure you get the AGP first..it's faster...if you decide to go to four monitors then you can also add the PCI card...

get the extra monitor card, nothing fancy, like 30 bucks.
once in and hooked up, right click your main screen, click properties and align you monitors as 1 and 2, decide which one you want as a main.
