OK..lets talk about volume.

Here is a question for all of you.

1. Why would a stock's daily trading volume be over 10 million and yet the price moves less than 1/2 a penny in one day??

We all know that volume precedes a price increase, so what happened??

yes felaz sometimes the volume tend to be alot and no movement but if you think about it ...you dont realy know wether there is a lot of buying or selling of this one stock so you could only assume..... the price would go up if there is a lot of selling and then fall if there is a lot of buying...but what if theres a litlbit of both on and on and on through out the day... i think that volume should be looked at in a day to day follow up of the stock and not minute to minute.... then again aside from supply and demand theres value so the specialist might have no reason to try to get more people to buy at high price... if theres **** value to it... i wouldnt pay........ but theres im sure alot more involved.....

Could a close split of 5mBuy / 5m sell cause this ?

just a little rise isnt enough for such a move although 5 mil lol thats 50,000,00+ per penny rise, so it could have been a buy, by several investors or someone on the inside, but what happend after?, did it fall after the rise?, and when was the high volume recorded?, @ the bottom or @ the top?, i use that as an indication of buys and sells.

My understnading is that buying and selling with equal pressure stabilized by MM when ,at some point in the day, either side has more pressure, causes such stability. But it worth watching and it could make a huge swing sometime in one side. I have taken profit sometimes in such situation in stocks like CHTR, SIRI, ICGE, ECGI and so on when prices were lower.

yeh you know, i think that sometimes, thats the only good way to make money, if you exclude the financials, and all the other stuff that the company offers, you could simply make good moves on supply and demand. I for exaple follow level 2 quotes with ameritrade, cuz its least delay, for price, and, volume. So if a big shift was made from selling to buying, the price starts to ride with respect to the companys value ofcourse, ive seen volume of like 2,927,991 and some, and the price stayed flat, but i trade on a daily basis with otc's so i play with about 100 invested for a nice share, few penny's rise i make my 100 or 2 and dump it, it gives me the flex of day trading without the ( evil ) margin.

i dont work...... i love this..job
