[QUOTE]Originally posted by BooDog: [QB] Cyberlux Corporation Receives BrightEye System Order from the New York State National Guard Monday May 21, 3:05 pm ET Cyberlux high-performance visible and covert lighting system to be used in National Guard deployments RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., May 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cyberlux Corporation, (OTC Bulletin Board: CYBL - News), a leading provider of LED lighting solutions, announced today that the Company has received a new order for the BrightEye Visible and Covert Portable Illumination System from the New York State National Guard. The BrightEye VaC Portable Illumination System is the latest portable, battery-powered visible and covert lighting system developed by Cyberlux to address the needs across the United States Armed Forces. The light weight BrightEye System can be rapidly deployed and operational by one service person as a "stadium-type" illumination source in under 5 minutes of set-up time. ADVERTISEMENT The New York State National Guard is the first of the fifty state-level Guard units to purchase a BrightEye system. Last month, the National Guard Bureau, the federal-level Guard organization, purchased two BrightEye systems for field trials. Across all States, the National Guard require rapidly deployable portable covert and visible lighting systems for disaster response, border patrol support, homeland defense operations, and global military deployments. The New York Unit will utilize the BrightEye system for Night Vision and Night Vision Goggle (NVG) operations during their upcoming deployment in June. "Having our first state-level National Guard customer order within a month of the National Guard Bureau orders signifies the importance of our BrightEye System's capability and field performance," said Mark Schmidt, president and chief operating officer for Cyberlux. "The New York State Guard order demonstrates the commitment to excellence within the New York Guard leadership and equips their Guard unit with the most advanced lighting technology. Additionally, this order, totaling $24,824, represents an important first step in the deployment of our BrightEye light-weight, portable battery-powered solid-state lighting system to the standing Guard units in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico." The BrightEye VaC Portable Illumination System is designed as a portable visible and night-vision compatible illumination system for general mission lighting, force protection, maintenance lighting, expeditionary base protection, disaster first responders, and other rapidly deployable high- intensity lighting applications. Using advanced optics, advanced solid-state lighting technology, and light-weight battery power, all contained in an easily transportable wheeled case, the BrightEye system is capable of eliminating the space-consuming bulk, noise and energy consumption of the current generator-powered incandescent lighting systems. Unique to the marketplace, the BrightEye provides both visible white lighting and night- vision compatible covert lighting, capability not available in traditional lighting systems. The BrightEye System is available through the General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Supply Schedule 56 for Specialty Lighting products under Cyberlux GSA Contract GS-07F-9409S and orderable part number 2CP0170. About The National Guard The National Guard, the oldest component of the Armed Forces of the United States and one of the nation's longest-enduring institutions, celebrated its 370th birthday on December 13, 2006. The Guard stood on the frontiers of freedom during the Cold War, deploying soldiers and airmen to fight in Korea; during the Berlin crisis of 1961-1962, the Guard reinforced NATO; during the Vietnam war, the Guard called almost 23,000 Army and Air Guardsmen to active duty, and during Desert Storm 1991, 75,000 Army and Air Guardsmen were called to help bring a swift end to the conflict. Recently, the National Guard has seen the nature of its Federal mission change, with more frequent call ups in response to crises in Haiti, Bosnia, Kosovo, and the skies over Iraq. Most recently, following the attacks of September 11, 2001, more than 50,000 Guard members were called up by both their States and the Federal government to provide security at home and combat terrorism abroad. In the largest and swiftest response to a domestic disaster in history, the Guard deployed more than 50,000 troops in support of the Gulf States following Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Today, tens of thousands of Guard members are serving in harm's way in Iraq and Afghanistan, as the National Guard continues its historic dual mission, providing to the states units trained and equipped to protect life and property, while providing to the nation units trained, equipped and ready to defend the United States and its interests, all over the globe.
