ASI Director to Guest Lecture to Merchant Marine Academy

KINGS POINT, NY – Bob Frucci, ASI Mid-Atlantic Region Director will serve as a guest instructor for Logistics and Intermodal Transportation at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on March 27 and 28.

Frucci will share his expertise in transportation shipping, security and operations and lecture on this dynamic industry.

“I am thankful for the opportunity to meet with the future leaders in the transportation industry and examine some of the critical issues that effect terminal operations,” Frucci said. “We are at a very important point for the transportation industry. Congestion, globalization, security, aging infrastructure, and other factors present major problems, but will also present opportunities for change. The group I will be meeting with will be the ones standing at the helm in the future and it will be their fresh ideas and guidance that keeps the supply chain flowing.”

Participants will learn a great deal from Frucci, whose transportation background is extensive. As Director for Middle Atlantic Region, Frucci is responsible for maintaining extensive contact with high value shippers, pharmaceutical companies, and transportation companies. He provides a highly experienced background developing targeted, threat based solutions providing protection from tampering, theft and damage to unattended assets.

“ASI is lucky to have the talents of Bob Frucci on our team, particularly as our company moves forward and grows with the dynamics of the transportation industry, said ASI President Anthony Shupin. “The Merchant Marine cadets will be equally as lucky to spend two days learning from one of the best.”

Frucci began his career in the transportation industry as a tractor-trailer driver and worked as supervisor in various operational positions, including Vessel Superintendent for Maher Terminals and as Manager of Vessel Operations for Atlantic Container Lines. This exposure to the inner workings of the transportation system provided a platform to work as a Private Investigator for Regent International Solutions focusing on cargo crime.

In addition to his role at ASI, Frucci serves as an instructor at GMATs teaching Maritime Security and Intermodal logistics. Past projects include security assessment and plan development of 73 Ready Reserve Vessels for the US Maritime Administration, Member of US Delegation to Cape Verde Islands to perform facility security review, and ISPS training to Security Officers in Dominica.

Frucci’s two-day presentation will be under the direction of Ron Katims, first holder of the academy and Crowley Maritime Corporation’s Crowley Chair in Logistics and Intermodal Transportation.

The Crowley Chair was established through a $2 million endowment by Crowley Maritime in memory of Thomas B. Crowley, Sr., the late leader of the firm. As the occupant of the Crowley Chair in Logistics and Intermodal Transportation, Mr. Katims will enhance the academy's visibility and stature in the field; provide midshipmen and faculty with unique perspectives on containerization and intermodal issues through teaching and public lectures; assist midshipmen in finding internships and building careers; help to organize conferences and seminars; and advise the academy on the further refinement and expansion of its Logistics and Intermodal Transportation Program.

“I thank Ron Katims, the Crowley Maritime Corporation and USMMA for including me in this important program. It is an honor to work with the group and also with Ron Katims who has contributed greatly to the building and success on the Intermodal transportation system.”

...increased its net loss by $1,639,849...

That's a pretty significant amount!! [Eek!]

who's doing their auditing?? [Confused]

JIF - posted
Yes, but that may be attributable to an increase in head count (sales force maybe) or sales expense.

They also have convertible dibentures (sp) that have come due.

They definitely have an indenpendent third party auditor, but it appears the errors were identified by their internal audit group. I'm very happy to see that they have an internal audit group and are implementing stronger internal controls.

Most small companies fail to invest in these measures.

FYI - I just invested another 3k at .0075. I'm really hoping we're at the bottom and ready to correct again to .05

Remember: .05 is the old .0001 (from before the R/S).

Here we go! This could be the pop to correct up again. Let's keep an eye on it folks!

I was just checking back on this one. Lost my a$$ after DDSI R/S, sold here at .025 and bought NEOM thank God.

I'll see you guys in a week or two when it hits .001 to get my money back.

You're right JIF it will bounce, but not til after summer when they usually have movement.

This is a "one spike a year" company.

THIS IS HUGE NEWS~!!!!!!!

AND LOTS OF ACTION ON THE STOCK TODAY.

LET'S REMEMBER, THE R/S brings down the total number of outstanding shares. So, if you multiply all the outstanding shares by the current share price, you may find, as I have, that this stock is drastically undervalued (for a company that just increased revenues AGAIN by 300%)!!!!!!!!!

Let's see how many people pick up the news tomorrow!

Markets are closed tomorrow and it was profits that were up over 300%, but it's all good.

Let's hope for a big move on Monday.

it's good news, I think the better news will come when they bring out the new website and report quarterly results...I'm looking for big things from these guys. JMO.

JIF - posted
Well, profits are even better than revenues b/c that could indicate a successful reduction of costs.

Yup - the new web site will be huge - mostly because it will offer e-commerce allowing customers to purchase security products via the internet. That can increase sales and decrease sales cost.

I'm such a big fan of this company.

Can't figure this stock out...they report positive revenue and profits for 2006 yet it continues to tank. This POS will be back to .0001 by the end of this year!! [Mad]

jon clogger - posted
I hear you KZ, I'm getting back in if it hits .001 to recover some of my money hopefully. But I don't think it will tank to .0001 again because with the number of shares left after the R/S the company would truly be worthless. JC
