Unico, Inc. Chairman Files Form 4 on Stock Purchase
Thursday April 6, 9:15 am ET

SAN DIEGO, CA--(MARKET WIRE)--Apr 6, 2006 -- Unico Incorporated (OTC BB:UNCN.OB - News), which focuses on the production of ores and precious metals in the U.S., today announced that chairman Ray C. Brown has purchased an additional 5,000,000 shares of Unico common stock.

The purchase was made at a price of $0.00128 per share on April 4, 2006 and brought the number of common shares that Mr. Brown owns to 43,000,000. Subsequent to his purchase, Mr. Brown gifted two million shares of his purchased common stock to Unico corporate secretary C. Wayne Hartle and one million shares to company director Richard Belliston. After receiving the stock, Mr. Hartle's Unico common stock ownership increased to 3,197,000 shares and Mr. Belliston's increased to 2,233,278 shares.

"Both Mr. Hartle and Mr. Belliston have been highly effective and loyal members of the Unico management team, and I was pleased to provide these additional shares to them from my recent stock purchase," stated Mr. Brown.

"We all believe very strongly in the future of Unico and are particularly encouraged by the recent progress on the reconstruction of the mill and processing facility at the Deer Trail Mine, since it is expected to provide a consistent revenue stream for the company from the processing and shipment of current stockpiles of precious metal bearing ore," Mr. Brown added. "These developments, as well as Unico's agreement with industry leader Behre Dolbear to provide geological services at the Deer Trail Mine, only add to our confidence that Unico is headed in the right direction and is poised to grow value for the company's shareholders."

A Form 4 Statement of Change in Beneficial Ownership of Securities was filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission regarding Mr. Brown's purchase, and two additional Form 4 statements were filed on the increases in Mr. Hartle and Mr. Bellison's common stock holdings.

Where did you get 5 billion? Is that Authorized shares.

I see 498 million O/S and 472 million in the float.
This is at the bottom, and at a double bottom I might add. Formed a doji today, possible trend change for next couple days.

Jason, I'm not positive, but I think the float is a little less than 472mill. I was glancing over the form 4's and it looks like insiders own more than 45 million The O/S is correct at 498 million, so wouldn't the float be around 453mill or so?

dbrownRC - posted
its hard to believe the float is that low considering this thing has been trading over 200 million shares a day for the last week...just my thoughts...i know theres flippers, but they dont flip half the float a day....

this seems like a good buy. its at a very low price and this stock seems to fluctuate. It looks to hit .004 and even higher at times when it does go up. At this price, with some patience, this seems like an easy double and a flipper.
anyone else think so??

Unico Announces Engineering Contract for Electrical Substation at the Deer Trail Mine
Thursday April 13, 9:25 am ET

SAN DIEGO, CA--(MARKET WIRE)--Apr 13, 2006 -- Unico Incorporated (OTC BB:UNCN.OB - News), which focuses on the production of ores and precious metals in the U.S., today announced that the Deer Trail Mining Company, LLC, a wholly owned Unico subsidiary, has contracted with BNA Consulting, Inc. (www.bnaconsulting.com) of Salt Lake City, a major provider of electrical consulting services in Utah and surrounding states for 35 years, to provide a broad range of engineering services related to the construction of an electrical substation at the Deer Trail Mine and processing facility in Marysvale, Utah.

The Deer Trail Mining Company has initiated reconstruction of the mill and processing facility to improve both efficiency and capacity in processing operations at the Deer Trail Mine. The design and completion of a new electrical substation at the Deer Trail Mine is expected to provide substantial cost savings for the Deer Trail Mining Company, specifically as it relates to the operation of the mill and processing facility, as a result of lower energy costs and greater reliability.

A major focus of the company's current efforts is on the completion of the mill and processing facility, so the Deer Trail Mining Company can begin processing current stockpiles of precious metal bearing ore and sell the concentrates to generate revenue for the company in the near term. The reconstruction includes a variety of improvements that are expected to improve the long-term performance of the facility and increase the company's profitability.

Unico, Inc. president Wayne M. Ash, who has been appointed to supervise and manage all operations at the Deer Trail Mine, explained the numerous reasons that the Deer Trail Mining Company opted for going to grid power rather than diesel-generated power.

"The cost of diesel fuel has risen to at least twice the $0.20 to $0.25 per kilowatt hour price it was a decade ago. There is no guarantee that the price will not continue rising in the medium-term future. Although there is no assurance that the rate for grid power, which is presently in the range of $0.06 per kilowatt hour, will not increase with time, the current cost gap between the two is expected to widen, rather than narrow. Further, diesel generators are prone to breaking down far more often than loss of grid power. When the power goes off, material settles out in tanks and makes the mill very difficult to start up again, causing a loss of mill throughput while the company still incurs labor costs. In addition, there is always a loss of recovery during rapid shut-down and slow re-start. The bottom line is that the fewer the breakdowns that occur, the more efficiently the processing facility can operate," stated Mr. Ash.

"Increased maintenance and labor requirements would also impact the bottom line of the operations at the Deer Trail processing facility. When diesel units are over-taxed, the cost per kilowatt hour skyrockets, while with grid power, the company will only pay for what it uses. Maintaining load balance between the two diesel generators that would be needed to power the site would require the hiring of a full-time electrician. Probably most compelling of all of these factors is that the monthly cost for diesel generator power would be approximately four times as high as grid power. Putting in terms of return for the company, the diesel power alone at the mill could cost us as much as $20.00 per ton processed, versus $5.00 per ton for grid power," added Mr. Ash.

In September 2005, Unico entered into a five-year purchase contract with PGM, LLC, a private subsidiary of Polymet Corporation, for the purchase of precious metal bearing concentrates. Terms of the agreement include a monthly purchase quantity of 150 tons for the first 6-9 months and increases to 300 tons through the duration of the five-year term. Unico has estimated that the gross cash flow produced from this contract could range from $125,000 up to $450,000 per month. Since completion of the mill and processing facility is directly tied to near-term revenues for the company, significant resources and manpower are being dedicated to the reconstruction efforts.
