Originally posted by yourdiligence: [QB] Let's see CNES is moving into a new offices/facility which includes a 'cleanroom.' I would imagine that might just be for the manufacture of meters and the testing of all necessary components. There seems to be a number of people who are still on the sidelines waiting to see if/when a contract is going to happen. That's fine and I'm not saying buy or sell but I think it's very naive to think that CNES has not engaged in formal or informal discussions with a number of entities for contracts and resultant revenue streams. IMO CNES may even have preliminary agreements with a number of players whether they be municipalities, small businesses or larger entities. I can't say when and with whom but there are some strong indications like the above that co. is gearing up to obtain and facilitate contracts. If you believe in management, why else would they be upgrading their operation? Moving into new offices, upgrading profile physically and a number of other developments should help individuals to be better-informed and form their own conclusions. CNES is certainly not the only one in AMR industry by any stretch of imagination. However, the CNES platform seems to be more-about the whole package and utilities who are new to AMR are going to need such a comprehensive approach IME. They are not going to want 3-4 different contracts with several different entities. Harder to sell to utilities and municipalities the more complex the situation becomes. They are going to want 'the whole package.' Integration and efficiencies...I have been reading 250 page AMI testimony and it's amazing to read about need for AMR and California's 'blueprint' because the alternatives are costly like construction of several new power plants each year to keep pace with all the growth. Building more electrical generation is not sustainable but developing greater efficiencies for utilities and consumers could indeed be the answer for California and other parts of the nation. Finally, I was in an investment class last week and smiled when the instructor/financial advisor expressed his faith in the 'evolution of wireless-based technologies for healthy $$$ returns perhaps even more so in the future.' I mentioned AMR and he gave me a blank look. Old-time meters are antiques folks...it's just that very few people realize this as of March 2006. Hopefully CNES can quickly become a 'contender with contracts' and get a nice piece of a promising sector. Ok one other deduction totally unsubstantiated but based on line-up of MMs and solely my personal view: recent run-up has been enhanced by Wall Street interest. Either big institutions or their clients are sniffing around on this one--bashers are saying pump and dump etc. etc. ad infinitum because many blew this co. off and FCC certification caught them by surprise. They're hopeful to see basement floor levels because they have deducted potential here both of CNES and AMR sector on the whole. [/QB]
