The only change pertains to checked baggage and that does not get screened at the entrance to the gates so again no impact on anything except initial check-in at the ticket counter might same a minute or two there . Someone was saying about lost luggage problem. I have traveled quite a bit over the years and have delayed luggage many times, never lost and in fact what most people call lost luggage is really just delayed luggage. The airline will deliver delayed luggage to your home or hotel as needed usually within 12 hours of your arrival at no cost to you. So even if they delay my luggage I will still get it within time frame for Luggage Express delivery at no charge to me. I still think the concept has merit, but savings isn't the way to sell it. It is a convenience and there is nothing wrong with that. Sell it as a luxury item and it will do very well. To concentrate on terrorist actions also misses the mark. Remember that 911 and all the subsequent increase in screening procedures was because of Passengers that were able to circumvent inadequate or lax passenger screening not luggage screening procedures. I believe the last airliner lost as a result of terrorists placing something in checked baggage was either Pan Am 103 in Lockerbie Scotland or the French UTA airliner over Chad. I believe those tragedies occurred in 1988 or 1989. All of the rest have been as a result of passengers circumventing screening. Again I think this idea has legs but the appeal is in convenience and as an "exclusive Service" that would definitely make me feel convenienced.
