The following excerpts (Quote Marks) came from the people interviewed during the investor trip on February 20, 2006. My interpretation and commentary (JMHO) follows quoted stuff. "20 yards per one of these trucks, (truck driver speaking) yep" 20 yards per load is equal to 36.3 tons "we’re 7 miles from the pit, this guy is obviously just back from the levee," "we have 11 trucks at the pit," "We’re hauling over to a levee of the 90 and 11 right now, 90 & 11" From the conversation the truck driver inferred that the "Irish Bayou" levee was on just on the other side of the freeway from where they were talking. If you that they are 7 miles from the pit and the levee is just across the freeway the total round trip distance is probably 12-15 miles. Using an average speed of about 30 mph, the drive time is 20-30 minutes for the round trip and allowing for a load time and scaling to take 15 minutes the entire cycle should take about 45 minutes, or 10-11 trips per day (8 hour day) "this is Ponchatrain Materials" "that's our dredge(PBLS) and we're getting it back, it's valued at several millions of dollars" "Ponchatrain Materials is running out, not Ponchatrain but TXI, they don’t have the land we have" "This large cleared area is for a new company under contract to Phoenix" As a matter of fact, we know US Soils has 11 trucks at the pit, Ponchatrain Materials has a dredge (owned by PBLS) and is currently working the pit producing masonry sand, and smaller size minerals. TXI is running out of materials on there adjacent lease, it is very probable that the new company coming in that is under contract is TXI, they have all the necessary equipment next door and need new source of materials. "now this area here [pointing to a mound of reddish dirt] we are going to take what is known as ‘over-burden’, everything we have out here we sell, we sell the ‘over-burden’ to the Corps of Engineers and these people working on the levee projects, the stuff we’re standing on right here," In the video, the reddish dirt is most likely the common clay material found all over the lease, it apparently was tested by the Army Corps of Engineers and is used in the rebuilding of the levees, note the portion of the comment "and these people working on the levees project, most likely referring to the prime contractors such as Boh Brothers et al. "in some area out here you go down 20-25 feet to hit gravel, others like we’re standing on right now you kick the gravel, the gravel is the biggest thing in the cement industry out here, concrete industry because they are going to need it in the rebuilding of homes out here, driveways, homes, bricks, everything, we have the material out here we have the material out here, we have over 800 acres of it, and we are the only one with that much in the area," "one of the companies under contract to Phoenix is getting ready to dredge this area and they are going to be selling a lot of materials out here" the minerals are right here in front of your eyes, The higher priced minerals, i.e., sand & gravel, outcrops on this lease and in some areas is found 20-25 feet down, covered by the reddish clay dirt that is the 'over-burden'. Note that you don't dredge clay it is just scooped up from the surface, and Zornes commented that the big company that cleared the new area and that has't really started yet is setting up a dredge with 200-500 feet of pipe, this is the water based operation that produces the sand & gravel not the clays. "they are either going to come to us or we are going to produce it ourselves" "this is one area and then there’s going to be more on this 800 acres, but you can put 3,4,5,6 companies in here, it’s not going to be just one company, major companies are going to come in or we have the option of doing it ourselves, for us it is easier to hire or contract someone out and they’ll do it rather than us to have the maintenance and the expense, and the overhead, we’re doing it the smart way, we’re running…, we’re letting them produce it and we are keeping our expenses down so our profits go up and we all benefit from it." US Soils on site, Ponchatrain Materials onsite, TXI running out of materials next door and probably the new company clearing area for a dredging operation, and Zornes says 3,4,5,6 more major companies. No wonder this pit will be exhausted in 3-5 years. $300,000,000 in minerals left in pit, so that is $60,000,000 to $100,000,000 per year in gross sales out of the pit. "once you start hitting rock you don’t want to get a load of dirt in the rock because we get to much money for the rock, once they start we will sell the over-burden to the Corps of Engineers, the dirt that’s coming out of here….for $4-$4.50 because you don’t have as much minerals, the gravel, sand, ……" The cheap material sold out of the pit is the reddish clay material, at $4 to $4.50, I assume as per ton since the scales don't weigh the trucks out in yards of material. So the sand & gravel, the more expensive materials sold probably bring the average per ton sales price to about $9 - $10 per ton. Each truck goes out the gate with about 36 tons of materials on board at $10 per ton, that;s about $360 per truck load and we previously figured a truck can make 10 -11 round trips per day (8 hours) or each truck generates about $ 3600 per day (8 hours) times 11 or $39,600 per day for US Soils alone, and we we haven't factored in Ponchatrain Materials, the 'New Company' nor the 3 to 6 others to get their place in the pit. Can we all spell cash cow! Hope this stirs imaginations. USC Cowboy Long n Strong. [/QB][/QUOTE]
