Someone mentioned something about a "quadruple witching day". I am not sure what it is, I am not sure if it is today and I am not sure what effect it has on the market or pennt land. But, maybe that is it.

Triple witching occurs on the third Friday of March, June, September and December: it refers to the fact that on these days, option and futures contracts expire on market indexes used by program traders. Because these events all take place simultaneously, it sets off extra heavy trading in options, futures and stocks (usually occurring at the end of the day), which is capable of causing sudden huge gaps up or down in stock prices.
