Ok, I absolutely LOVE OTCCharts! Do not get me wrong in this post... I just know that a bunch of us here use it and that maybe a couple things need to be addressed.
First, I have noticed that the Bid/Ask is innaccurate many times. For instance I'll see a stock trading outside of the bid/ask many many times and wonder what is going on. I'll get a realtime quote from my broker and it will show a bid/ask that is actually around where the stock is trading. This needs to be looked at.
Second, we all pay 100 a month for this service. I think it is not asking too much to request FULL Realtime Level II, this is an invaluable tool and something that us traders almost absolutely NEEEED.
Third, I know we have been told they are working on it, but I hope that the Bid/Ask lvl 2 for Pinks comes out real soon. That will be invaluable too and cannot wait for it.
Does anyone agree/disagree with me? I would love any and all comments on this so we can maybe contact OTCCharts and find out when these features are coming.
Just wanted to also thank DOG for pointing me to this tool....I LOVE IT!

I agree with all of those issues and I might add that I get dropped off the network at least once a day, sometimes as many as 3 times! Nice site for news but for 100 bones/mo lets fix some stuff! I recommend we all start regularly e-mailing our observations to them.

Also, lately I've noticed a pretty long (up to 5 minutes) delay in buys/sells from my Ameritrade Level II vol and it actually showing up on OTC Realtime data/stats. Kinda' annoying really.

I agree with all of the above...and I've noticed that there seems to be at least a 2 minute delay. I certainly expect up-to-the-second reporting for 100 clams.

I agree with all the points brought up. One other thing I'd like to see fixed is the amount of time to pull up real time data for a specific stock. It is slowwww.

I've noticed many of the same things about OTCCharts; quite a few inaccuracies. Things like, they showed CYTP making a 52 week high a few days ago, and I thought it was making a huge run; only problem, they had the decimal point in the wrong place (.034 ). And I see on the breakout list many times where a stock has hit a 52 week high, but I know from experience that it is not a 52 week high. Don't know what the deal is here. And it seems that the only time a run is picked up is if it hits a 52 week high; it doesn't seem to be triggered by volume, but I may be wrong on this. I was told when I signed up in December that Level II would be available by March. Meanwhile, I have to use AlphaTrade for Level II on OTC & PINKS, which makes it kinda' expensive, but at least I can pull up 5 or 6 level II's at one time.

fastrunner - it may be slow for you because of the version of Java that you are running on YOUR computer. I have several computers and have found that it runs very well (about 2 seconds to open a real time stats chart) with Java version 1.3. On my newer computer with the newer version of Java 1.4, it sometimes takes up to 15 seconds to open up a real time and stats chart. So, I deleted java 1.4 from my computer and installed java 1.3. Now it workes great on both of my setups. Try it and post if you need help.

Yeah I have 1.4 too, I may revert back to 1.3 but not right now...hehe have to watch my stocks!
I DO think we all need to be e-mailing OTCCharts with our concerns and requests. Paying 100 a month for this we definitely deserve these things.

Jiggin,
Thanks for the info. I do have a new computer but I am not savvy about the configuration. I only know how to turn it on and browse. All others I am totally lost. I will try to find out what version I am running later this afternoon. I'll let you know the findings. Thanks for your help.

posted http://www.alphatrade.com. All the package info is available here; it costs a little more than the base $39 for all the things I have; I pay $55 and have just about everything you could want. I'm not sure what I'm gonna' do, because AlpahTrade is definately a lot cheaper and I've had very, very few problems with them. OTCCharts needs to wake up; I wrote 'em last month and suggested some changes but I never even received a reply.

Fastrunner, you can check what version by going to Control Panel and then click on Add/Remove programs. It should say the version number after the "Java Environment" or whatever Java thing it says.

Hmmm...I don't really remember, but I know I got Level 2 for pink/otcbb/nasdaq...really just the bear minimum to get level 2. they added new stuff after i signed up...like enhanced charts. they have a trial period...which i think cost me $12 'cause i added some things that weren't in the original trial. but it was well worth it. hope this helps. I'm going through the Alphatrade demo right now and it looks pretty impressive. I am on my last week of trial with OTCcharts, which I like a lot but I think I will give Alphatrade a free try once my OTC runs out...the level II pinks are a nice bonus and it's $82 /mo cheaper! The one thing nice about OTC is that it's focus is the OTC! Which is nice since it takes all the other exchanges out of the picture and you know you are always looking at OTC stocks.

I use the stock filters a lot (thanks to DaDog) and i haven't found that feature on Alphatrade...also, the fact that it's all otc. i'll miss my several personal watchlists, but I won't miss any of it enough to pay the extra bucks.
besides...we can buy Alphatrade stock now before it starts to take off...(APTD .63)lol

If someone can get AlphaTrade for $82 less, you're getting a great deal ! I think you made a typo though. I'm almost ready to go with AlphaTrade exclusively, as you have to be real careful with OTCCharts with their "52wk breakouts"; I'll usually watch the breakouts for a while and do some quick research before I jump into a stock; you can get burned real easy if you're not careful; like 52 wk highs of some stocks I check and there's like almost NO VOLUME... Anyway, I guess it's all in what works for you. I think AlphaTrade works just as well if you work on it, and you can bring up the most actives list and see what's really popping. Plus, their charting, if you want to pay more, is really good with a lot of options. And that's one thing that I do like is that I can look at AMEX, NASDAQ, or NYSE too. That's a definate plus to me.

Yeh Falstaff, not trying to make fun of you. But I'm still failing to see how it's $82 cheaper; base AlphaTrade is $39; with the level II OTC and pinks and a few other things, I'm up to $55. This is still a lot cheaper than the ~$100 that OTCCharts costs though. Anyway, good luck to all, whichever you decide on.

You will need to be prepared to restart your computer so the new JRE will work. What you will have to do is uninstall Java 1.4, go to www.java.com, click on Download Now, and look for Java 1.3.
Download and install that, restart, and you should be set to go.

Base fee is 17/mo and are prorated so after week 3 you're only paying 4/mo. Am I missing something else? I realize the any add-ons are not pro-rated but either way, I agree, it's still a steal for under $100 all said and done.

I guess you're right, but it's kinda' like buyin' a car and getting a price of $20,000;by the time you add TTL...etc, it's a little more; by the time you add exchange fees, pay for level II's, etc., it gets up there a little more, but base price, you are correct. 'Sorry about that, I was thinking base was $39, and it may be close to that with exchange fees thrown in, 'not sure. Regarding OTCCharts, a prime example of the 52wk alerts (which I guess the name says it all !); ENDE hit a high of .024; and it's on the list now; only problem is, it opened at .017, so I've already lost out .007. I realize you can't always get in at the bottom, but volume on this stock is over 3 times the 10day average. I guess that's something to put on the wish list, something that's responsive to higher than normal volumes. But, I wasn't watching the "top 400" on OTCCharts, or the most actives on AlphaTrade, and may have been able to pick it up there. Another example just popped up: CWIR reported as .082 on the 52wk breakout; it's not .082, it's .0082 !!!! 'Wish they'd fix that stuff !!!! Whatever, a lot to watch anyway. Good luck all !

That's what i was talking about when i said i use otccharts for the filters. i have one that picks up on volume that is increased more than 50% of the 10 day average. works great. that's what i'll miss w/ alphatrade. it may actually be worth the extra money. i'll have to think about it.

Yeh, I see your point ww. I haven't used the filters that much, and a rep did call from OTCCharts when I first got it, and although it's pretty straightforward, he walked me through all of the screens and features. I think both of them are good, but I just wish OTCCharts would clean up the small errors like the one mentioned above about CWIR, and other discrepancies.

Spoke to a guy (Alan) at otc yesterday cause I was having trouble with the web page loading and the site crapping out on me. He was very nice and helpful. Asked if I had any suggestions for the site and to forward them on.
Also, usci was listed as having a 52-week high of $1.00 the other day... it was also listed that way on barchart, so I doubt it was an otc error. IMHO
